Chapter One...WWE Raw
Walking into the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia felt surreal. The energy pulsed through the air, a symphony of excitement and anticipation, and I was ready to dive in.
Clutching my two-year-old son, Amias, I marveled at how this place, a temple of wrestling, had become my new workplace. I'd always known Amias had a special affinity for wrestling, even at his young age. The flashy colors, the roaring crowds, the larger-than-life characters—it was all a part of our world now.
Maria Menounos had suggested me as Samantha's replacement, and while I was honored, I couldn't help but feel a whirlwind of nerves.
I glanced down at Amias, his big eyes wide with wonder as he took in the sights and sounds. I was doing this for him as much as for myself. He deserved a mother who pursued her passions, and what better way to show him that than to embrace this thrilling opportunity?
As we navigated backstage, I caught sight of the crew hustling, technicians adjusting the ring ropes, and wrestlers warming up. It was chaos, but a beautiful chaos. Suddenly, I was greeted by Joshua, the reigning WWE Intercontinental Champion.
Our eyes met, and in that moment, the atmosphere shifted. There was an undeniable chemistry, an electric connection that caught both of us off guard. He flashed a warm smile that lit up his face, making me feel instantly welcome.
"Hey there, new ring announcer, I'm Joshua," he said, his voice deep and inviting. "I'm looking forward to seeing what you bring to the table."
"Thanks! I'm excited to be here," I replied, trying to keep my cool despite my heart racing.
Just then as Joshua walked away, a backstage coordinator approached, handing me a thick binder filled with everything I needed to know about the current Raw roster.
It was time to step into my role fully, and I felt a thrill of anticipation. After a quick goodbye to Amias, who was happily engaged with his nanny, I headed toward the ring.
The crowd erupted when my music hit, a rush of adrenaline surging through me. I waved and shook hands with fans, feeling their energy wash over me.
Standing under the bright lights, I grabbed the microphone, ready to make my mark. "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to WWE Raw!" I announced, my voice steady, though my heart raced. "I'm Charm, and I'm thrilled to be your new ring announcer!"
As I settled into my new role, the action unfolded before me. Seth Rollins entered the ring, commanding the crowd's attention. His charisma was palpable as he spoke to Bronson, challenging him in a way that sent the audience into a frenzy. "If you want to be famous, Bronson, make your ass famous right now!" The intensity between them was electric, and I could feel the tension in the air.
Then came Adam Pearce, flanked by security and referees, attempting to defuse the situation. But before anyone could intervene, Bronson made his move, and all hell broke loose. Seth dove onto him, igniting a chaotic confrontation that had everyone on the edge of their seats. The atmosphere was thick with adrenaline, and I couldn't help but feel exhilarated watching the action unfold so closely.
After a series of intense moments, security finally managed to separate the two, but the excitement didn't end there. The women's world champion Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez interrupted Damage CTRL's promo featuring Kairi Sane and Iyo Sky, setting the stage for an upcoming tag team match.
As I announced the matches, I relished every second. This was more than just a job; it was a front-row seat to the drama and athleticism that made WWE special.
As the night progressed, I found my rhythm, reveling in the energy of the crowd. Each match brought its own stories, but nothing could compare to the anticipation building for the main event.
