View all 2,423 commentsEver since I stepped into the ring as a ring announcer for the WWE, my life has taken a thrilling turn.
Who would have thought that holding a microphone and introducing some of the most electrifying athletes in the world could catapult me into a new social media universe?
I've always loved wrestling, but this was an unexpected bonus—a whole new audience that was genuinely interested in what I had to say.
I could hardly believe the numbers on my Instagram account. With each post and story, my followers were multiplying, and there were some familiar names among them. Joshua had followed me. I stared at my phone in disbelief. Naturally, I followed him back, feeling a rush of excitement.
Engaging with the wrestling community has been a blast. I've always been a fan, but now I was part of it. I found myself eagerly replying to comments, sharing my thoughts on matches, and even exchanging banter with some of the wrestlers online.
It felt surreal to be included in conversations with people I used to watch from afar. I felt like I was finally carving out my own niche in this vibrant world.
Just then, my thoughts were interrupted by the sound of the front door swinging open. It was Amias and right behind him was Melody, my pregnant sister, waddling in with her little son, Anario, in tow. The sight of them brought an instant smile to my face.
"How are things with you, baby sis?" Melody asked as she sank onto the couch, her hands resting on her belly, a glimmer of fatigue in her eyes.
"Good! Really good, actually. You won't believe how crazy it's been since I started working with WWE. My social media is blowing up," I replied, trying to contain my excitement.
"Does Rio know you're over here?" I continued, glancing at Anario, who was busy trying to wrangle one of his toys from Amias.
"Who do you think drove me here?" Melody shot back with a smirk, rolling her eyes playfully.
I laughed, imagining the two of them arguing about who would get to choose the music for the car ride.
Rio plopped down next to his wife, and I watched as Anario eagerly crawled around, exploring his surroundings. It was a delightful chaos, filled with giggles and the occasional squeal as he discovered new toys to play with.
Seeing my family like this, laughing and enjoying each other's company, always made my heart swell with happiness. They were my anchor in this whirlwind of change.
"So, tell me more about this Joshua guy," Melody said, a knowing look crossing her face. "I saw you liked his last post."
"Yeah, I did! I mean, he's talented and super popular, but it's not like that. We're just co-workers," I replied, trying to sound casual even though the thought of him made my stomach flutter.
"Just co-workers? Is that what you call it these days?" Rio chimed in, wiggling his eyebrows, making me roll my eyes at his teasing.
I couldn't help but smile, though. Something was thrilling about the attention from someone like Joshua, but I knew I had to stay focused on my work. Wrestling was my passion, and I didn't want to lose sight of that amid the distractions of newfound fame.
"What about you, sis? How are you feeling?" I asked Melody, eager to change the subject.
Her pregnancy had been a rollercoaster ride, and I admired her strength through it all.
"I'm surviving," she said with a chuckle. "Anario keeps me on my toes, and this little one is not making it easy. But I can't complain. I can't wait to meet him."
Amias, oblivious to the adult conversations swirling around him, crawled over to me, his big brown eyes wide with curiosity. He reached for my hand, and I pulled him onto my lap. "Hey, buddy! What are you up to today?" I asked, tickling him, which made him giggle uncontrollably.
The conversation flowed easily as we caught up on each other's lives. I shared stories from the backstage moments of WWE, the electrifying atmosphere of the events, and how exhilarating it felt to be a part of it all. Every time I stepped into that arena, I felt a surge of adrenaline and purpose, as if I were meant to be there.
As the evening wore on, I could feel the exhaustion from my busy week creeping in, but I relished these moments with my family. It was grounding, a reminder of where I came from and the support system that had always been there for me. The laughter, the shared stories, and even the playful teasing filled my heart with joy.
I glanced at my phone, the screen lighting up with notifications from social media. It was a constant reminder of my dual life—one foot in the exciting world of wrestling, the other anchored in family and home. I knew I had to strike a balance, but for now, I cherished this moment of connection.
"Do you think you'll stay in WWE for a long time?" Melody asked, her tone curious.
"I hope so. I love it. There's so much to learn, and I want to grow with it. Plus, I want to make my mark. I want to be known for something special," I replied, a determined spark in my voice.
Rio nodded. "I believe in you, sis. You've always had that fire in you. Just keep pushing forward."
His encouragement meant the world to me. It was easy to get lost in the whirlwind of social media and wrestling drama, but moments like this reminded me of the importance of staying true to myself. I wanted to create a legacy, not just for myself but for my family as well. I wanted them to look at me one day and be proud of what I had accomplished.
As the night drew to a close, I put Amias to bed while Melody, Rio, and Anario prepared to head back home. We exchanged hugs and promised to meet again soon. I watched them leave, a mix of emotions swirling inside me. It was moments like these that fueled my passion, that reminded me of why I worked so hard.
Returning to the living room, I sank into the couch, my mind racing. I picked up my phone, scrolling through my notifications. New comments on my recent posts, messages from fans, and a few likes from Joshua. It was exhilarating and overwhelming all at once. I felt the weight of expectations and excitement, and I knew this was just the beginning.
Tomorrow, I'd step into the arena again, microphone in hand, ready to announce the next round of matches. Each time I stood in front of that audience, I felt alive. The thrill, the cheers, the energy—it was intoxicating. And with every match, I hoped to grow not just as an announcer but as a person, embracing this journey and all the surprises it held.
I smiled to myself, realizing that this adventure was just starting. With my family behind me, a growing community of supporters, and my own determination, I was ready to take on whatever came next.
