It's been a few weeks since Ashlie and Nik left Mystic Falls and now they are in Portland. Nik was out siring hybrids and left Ashlie in the hotel room, much to his displeasure, but Ashlie convinced him to let her stay since she was safe in the room and he had a few hybrids guarding her as well. They weren't in the room, but they were nearby just in case. She went over her mental checklist again and added another thing to it.
✔️ 1. Get Vervain
✔️ 2. Tell Caroline about the Supernatural
✔️ 3. Free Enzo
✔️ 4. Save Lexi
5. Save Kol
✔️ 6. Destroy the last of the white oak
7. Save DavinaAshlie hated how Davina was treated and used. She figured that if she went and found Davina before the harvest, then the whole thing might be avoided. Davina didn't deserve what happened to her, so Ashlie can only hope that it will work.
Ashlie was only wearing one of Nik's shirts as she was laying on her stomach on the bed with her spell book and a notebook in front of her. She already came up with a rough plan to save Davina. The Harvest shouldn't be happening for another 5 months. Ashlie decided that she would go to New Orleans after her 18th birthday, which was 3 months away, since it would be safer because she'd be immortal. She would track down Davina and use the same spell on her that she did on Nik to show Davina her future if she were to stay and be a harvest girl. Then she would get Davina out of New Orleans, cloak her, and take her in, if that's what she wants. It was a rough plan, but a plan nonetheless. And it wouldn't be one she'd be enacting until after she turned 18.
She then moves on to figuring out how to save Kol. Ashlie knew she could try and be there when baby Gilbert and Elena kill him, but they wouldn't trust her and she would have no idea what to say to be able to get into the house. And even if she managed to get into the house, there were too many unknowns if she tried to save Kol that way. So instead, she wanted to develop a spell. She had been working most of the summer, when not doing schoolwork, on trying to develop a spell to make the originals immune to white oak stakes. It was incredibly difficult and she was having no luck whatsoever.
Ashlie groaned and threw her pencil towards the wall in front of her before plopping her head face down over her spell book.
"This is impossible." She groaned.
"You're trying something too big. Try something smaller." She heard Atira say in her head.
Ashlie lifted up her head in shock. She hadn't heard from Atira since she was reborn.
"Atira?" Ashlie questioned in her head.
"Yes, my child."
"What? How are you--I..."
"Haven't heard from me since you were reborn?"
"Yeah"
"I've always been watching over you, my child. You just didn't need my guidance until now. What you are trying to do, making the Originals permanently immune to white oak, it's too big. It's not possible. Think of an alternative."
"Like temporary immunity?"
"Possibly. Making the originals immune to white oak is something that wouldn't be able to be done, not permanently at least. Any spell you put on them would wear off, even if they weren't staked with white oak."
"What if I put the spell on jewelry, like daylight jewelry?"
"Now there's your solution."
"Would the spell I have started to write work with jewelry?"
"It would, but you'd need something to bind it, like lapiz lazuli does for daylight rings. And more than likely if Kol were to be stabbed in the heart with a white oak stake while wearing it, the magic would be used to save him, but then he would need a new piece of spelled jewelry. You would also need to add some of your blood into the spell. That is the only way it would work without consequence."
