Chapter 5: Meeting the Shadow- Aya

Just then, Feng smirked at Mary, and then he gave up. He swiftly gave the map to her. Just then,she realized something.

"He wouldn't give it to me just like that, would he? If only... that's it!, it's a trap!" She thought, and looked at the corners. She knew it. This was the end. Just then, a black and red blast shot out of the sky. She looked at it, knowing that the blast wasn't Claire's nor Douxie's. A shadow appeared from the background. It was wearing a mask, its long, brown straight hair,wearing a familiar warrior armor. It tried to distract the whole group, signalling Mary to go away. Mary, on the other hand, went to help the person. They fought all the guards and fled away. With little notice, a guard was hiding behind a bush, aiming his tranquilizer to Mary's neck. He shot it, which made it successfully on her neck.

Mary immediately moved swiftly, and fell down. The person saw the guard, and immediately ran and blasted him out.

Mary's pov
I was humming over my victory when suddenly, something came out of nowhere and shot me by my neck. I cried in pain then started to faint. I fell down, unconscious.

"Mare. Mare. Mare! Wake up!" I groaned in pain and woke up. I saw Claire shaking with fear. When she saw me, she was relieved and hugged me tightly.

"Holy frijole, don't scare me like that! You almost gave me a freaking heart attack! We almost lost you!" She cried. I then realized something.

"Wait, what do you mean, we? It's only just you and...where's Doux?" I asked.

"He went away. He forgot to do something in a place...i don't know." She replied.

Silly Douxie. He's a good guy and everything, but he's sometimes...committed. I then found out that we were in a room.

"Where are we?" I asked Claire.

" I don't know, the person who saved you earlier took both of us to this place." She replied.

Then it hit me. The shadow which fought off the guards saved me. Just then, something came across us. It was that person!

It sniffed all around my body, then it was shocked.

"Umm. Hello? Are you okay?" I asked.

Its eyes were locked with mine. I suddenly got a feeling that this person was so unfamiliar.
Then suddenly, it stopped sniffing.

"Is it really you? Meirian Wang?" It asked.

"Uh, yeah?" I replied.

Then it took its mask off. It was a girl! She was almost my height, has pretty green eyes, bright skin, with a red mark on her right eye. She smiled, with a warm greeting.

"I cannot believe it's you! After all these centuries, i finally found you!" She squealed happily. "And who's this friend of yours? She looks so pretty! And i assume you might do sorcery, ain't it? I could tell, due to your white streak." She asked.

"Wow, how'd you know?" Claire asked.

"I also do sorcery. Just a little. I read all about them in scrolls. Just to let you know, magic is forbidden in this area." She warned.

"Right. Um, who are you, exactly? And why did you save me back there?" I asked.

"Oh my goodness, i apologize for not introducing myself to you two. I am Aya." She introduced. "No introductions from you, i already know who you are." Said Aya, pointing to me.

"Claire Nuñez. Pleasured to meet you, Aya." Claire introduced. Aya nodded in response.

"So, what brings you two here?" She asked.

"This." I showed her the map, and her eyes widened.

"Mei? Why do you have the map?" She asked.

"The Dangedia are here and i need to protect Arcadia and also avenge Xi'an." I replied.

"Hm. I know how serious this sounds, but you need some training to fight better." She suggested.

I scoffed. "Says the one who wields magic. Where are we, by the way?"

"You're in the South of Xi'an, silly."

I widened my eyes as i remembered the place where i need to start training.

"Hey, do you know where is the Feng Temple?" I asked Aya.

She laughed. "You're here in the temple!"

Oh my gosh. I am so silly. Hehe.
