Chapter 9: Pain

Sunday night was too much for jeno. After Jiwoo and renjun. Jeno think about talking to renjun after talking with Doyoung.

He open his door finding Donghyuck was sleeping alone and ryo was again sleeping with doyoung. He gets worried where renjun was after finding renjun who is in terrace.

With a gentle push, Jeno opened the door and slipped inside., sitting alone in chair with patient's files and his iPad. Jeno's heart ached, knowing Renjun had endured unimaginable losses - his parents in a car accident, Haechan, and Jaemin's disappearance.

(Jeno) Renjun... what are you doing here?

Jeno noticed earpods in his ear he put those aside renjun flinch and looked up, startled, his eyes squinting slightly from the sudden interruption.

(Renjun) Umm...What's up, Jeno? What are you doing in middle of night?

(Jeno) I asked first. What are you doing here in late night?

(Renjun) Just checking some patient's files.

(Jeno) Now!,... I mean at this time. You are checking patient's file's.

(Renjun) Hmm

His eyes locked onto Renjun's, filled with remorse.

(Jeno) Renjun, I need to apologize.

Renjun set aside his work, his expression softening.

(Renjun)What's going on, Jeno?

Jeno took a deep breath, his voice cracking.

(Jeno)I'm sorry, Renjun. Sorry for how I've been acting lately. My mood swings, my irritability... I've been taking it out on you,and others and that's not fair.

Renjun leaned back in his chair, his eyes filled with understanding.

(Jeno) Jeno, you don't have to apologize. We're friends. We get it.

Jeno shook his head, his eyes welling up.

(Jeno) No, Renjun. You've lost so much already. Your parents, Haechan... and now Jaemin's disappearance. I only thought about my pain and I'm the one who's hurt. I shouldn't add to your pain. My behavior was inexcusable.

Renjun looked down, his voice barely above a whisper.

(Renjun) It's different with you, Jeno. You lose your husband.

Jeno knelt beside Renjun, his voice cracking.

(Jeno) But you lost you're family whole family then haechan your love and now. You're always there for me, Renjun. Even when I'm not deserving. Your kindness, your patience... it's more than I deserve.

Renjun placed a gentle hand on Jeno's shoulder.

(Renjun) We're friends, Jeno. That's what friends do. And about loosing I'm working on with psychologist. Don't worry about me.

Jeno wrapped his arms around Renjun, hugging him tightly.

(Jeno) Thank You so much Renjun.

(Renjun) Naa.... i should be the one to say thank you!

They don't know there was someone who's looking at them.

(Doyoung) Atleast they talk to each other.

(Taeyong) Hmm.

Doyoung shrieked and he turned around.
