Chapter 5: Love and Loss
The doorbell rang, breaking the evening's tranquility. Chenle, who was busy preparing dinner, wiped his hands on a towel and headed to the entrance.
(Chenle) Coming!
he called out.
Chenle opened the door to reveal Seo-jun, standing with a bright smile and a backpack slung over his shoulder.
(Chenle) Hey, Seo-jun! Come on in!
Chenle welcomed, stepping aside.Seo-jun's eyes sparkled as he entered.
(Seo-jun)Thanks, Chenle hyung!
Jaewon, who was sitting in the living room, looked up from his book. His heart skipped a beat as their eyes met.
(Jaewon)Hey jun.
Jaewon said softly, trying to sound nonchalant.
Seo-jun's smile widened.
(Seo-jun)Hey, wonie hyung.
The others greeted Seo-jun warmly as he made his way to Jaewon's side.
(Seo-jun)What's up, guys?
Seo-jun asked, dropping his backpack.
(Jaeyong)Not much,just waiting for dinner. What's in the bag?
(Seo-jun)Books,wonie hyung and I have a study date.
Seo-jun said, unzipping his backpack.Donghyuck chuckled.
(Donghyuck)Study date, huh? Sounds serious.
(Jaewon)Hyung, stop.
Mark smiled.
(Mark)Well, you two study hard. Dinner will be ready soon.
Seo-jun pulled out his books and notes.
(Seo-jun)Ready to tackle math?
Seo-jun asked Jaewon.
Jaewon nodded, and they began studying together, their heads bent in concentration.
As they studied, Ji-woo and Ji-hao played nearby, occasionally interrupting with giggles and questions.
(Jiwoo)Hyung, what's the answer?
Ji-woo asked, peeking at their notes.
Seo-jun smiled.
(Seo-jun) Let Jaewon hyung figure it out.
Jaewon chuckled.
(Jaewon)Thanks for the vote of confidence.
Kira joined in, helping Ji-woo with her homework.
Meanwhile, Donghyuck, taeyong and Chenle chatted in the kitchen, preparing dinner.
(Taeyong)Seo-jun seems like a great kid.
Taeyong said.Chenle nodded.
(Chenle)He is. Jaewon's lucky to have him as a friend.
(Donghyuck) yeah.
After a while, Jaewon and Seo-jun took a break, sitting back to relax.
Jaewon turned to Seo-jun.
(Jaewon)You're really good at math.
Seo-jun shrugged.
(Seo-jun)Thanks. You're not bad yourself.
