Teri stands on the rooftop of the command center, scanning the horizon with his enhanced vision.
Teri (to himself):
"Something's happening... and it's not just here."
Suddenly, Kei appears next to him, her face pale.
Kei (worried):
"It's The Shroud. It's starting."
Before Teri can respond, a tear in the sky opens up, and shadowy tendrils begin to pour through, spreading across the city like a dark mist. The tendrils latch onto buildings, vehicles, and even people, pulling them into the void.
Teri (shouting):
"All units, engage! We're under attack!"
The city's defense systems activate, and Teri's forces spring into action, firing energy blasts at the shadowy entities. But The Shroud's minions are unlike anything they've fought before. They absorb the attacks, growing larger and more powerful.
Kei raises her hands, casting protective spells around the civilians, but the sheer number of shadows is overwhelming. She can feel their power pulling at her, as if trying to drag her into the darkness.
Kei (gritting her teeth):
"It's too strong... I can't hold them back!"
Teri leaps into the fray, his plasma sword cutting through the shadows, but even his strikes seem to have little effect. The Shroud's power is too vast, too relentless.
Teri (frustrated):
"We need a new plan. This isn't working!"
Suddenly, the ground trembles, and a massive shadowy figure rises from the center of the city—a monstrous manifestation of The Shroud itself.
The Shroud (deep, echoing voice):
"You cannot stop what is inevitable. All will be consumed."
