The Heart's Confession

The sky was covered with heavy, gray clouds as Mechamaru and Miwa stood in front of Mahito and Geto. The air seemed to condense under the almost unbearable tension between the fighters. Mechamaru felt the weakness in his limbs, but the thoughts of Miwa, who stood next to him, gave him the strength to give everything once more. His heart was pounding violently, not only because of the danger that lurked before them, but also because of the proximity to her.

Mahito's smile was broad and vicious. "So, Kokichi, do you really think you can escape?"

Geto stood quietly next to him, his eyes full of calculation. "There is no way out," he said quietly, almost threateningly gentle.

"Miwa, stay close to me," Mechamaru whispered. His eyes met hers, and for a moment time seemed to stand still. Miwa nodded silently, but he saw the fear in her eyes. He wanted to calm her down, wanted to tell her that everything would be fine - but how could he do that if he didn't know it himself?

Mahito was the first to attack, his cursed techniques flashing through the air. Mechamaru blocked the attacks, his movements were precise, but he felt his forces fade. Each blow demanded a higher toll from his body. Geto stood in the background, watching and waiting for the right moment to strike.

Miwa fought bravely at his side, her sword blows sharp and skillfully. But she knew that she could not keep up with the dark force that engled Mahito and Geto. Doubt, fear and despair circled in her thoughts.

Why is all this happening?

Why am I standing here and fighting for my life?

She had always taken her duties as a swordsman seriously, but this felt different - life-threatening, more personal.

Mahito laughed as he pushed Mechamaru more and more on the defensive. "You're weak, Kokichi. You sold yourself for some pathetic information, and what for? For a body that you will soon no longer use."

What is he Talking about..? What Information?

Mechamaru gritted his teeth while ignoring Mahito's words. He couldn't give up now. Not while she was still in danger.

The battles continued to rage, the energy in the air became denser and denser, and yet Mechamaru knew that they could not win this battle. He looked at Miwa, who was fighting bravely, but her strength also waned. They couldn't stay here – they had to find a way out.

"Miwa, we have to get out of here!" Mechamaru called and jumped to her, blocking another attack from Mahito. In her eyes he saw the same thought. It wasn't cowardice, it was survival. She nodded briefly and jumped back, while Mechamaru launched a final attack to distract Mahito and Geto.

With his last strength, he used his techniques to break the ground between them and create a dense fog of energy that gave them enough time to escape. Mahito's curse energy permeated the fog, but Mechamaru blocked it with everything he had. It was a risky escape, but it was his only chance.

They ran – through the forest, deeper and deeper into the darkness. Her feet beat hard on the uneven ground, the heart racing in her ears as the adrenaline flowed through her bodies. The forest seemed endless, but they finally found a small, hidden place, far away from the enemies. They stopped, both panting, their bodies exhausted.

The trees around her were dense, the air cool and humid. Mechamaru leaned against a tree trunk, his breathing was heavy. Miwa stood facing him, her hand on her sword, as if she was still prepared for an attack. But everything remained silent.

Mechamaru lowered his head, his heart heavy with fatigue and emotions. "Miwa..." he began quietly, his voice rough from the efforts. She looked up, her eyes looking for his.

"We... can't always go on like this," he said, looking deep into her eyes. "This world is..." His voice faltered as he searched for the right words. "This world is full of darkness, Miwa. I did all this to have a normal life, to be free. And now..." He stopped briefly before continuing in a firmer voice: "We could leave everything behind. Together."

Miwa blinked, visibly surprised by his words. "Let everything... leave behind?" She whispered. Her head was a mess of thoughts. She wanted to understand Mechamaru, wanted to understand his despair, but reality seemed to weigh too heavily on her shoulders.

"How could I give up everything?" She thought. Her life, her duties, her friends - everything she knew was rooted in this world. But Mechamaru's words echoed in her head: together... She felt a lump in her throat as she tried to sort out all those feelings.

Mechamaru took a step closer, his heart racing as he approached the words he had been hiding for so long. "Miwa... I..." He took a deep breath, his hands trembling slightly, but he knew it was now or never. "I didn't do all this just for me."

His words made Miwa hold his breath. Her eyes widened, and she felt her heart beat.

"I... did it for you too. Because I... because I love you." The words were quiet, almost hesitant, but their meaning echoed in the silence of the forest.

Miwa stared at him, unable to say anything. Her heart was beating wildly in her chest, and suddenly everything around her seemed blurry.

Mechamaru... loves me?

She had never seen it coming, never suspected that the feelings between them could be so deep. And now, faced with this truth, she didn't know what to think.

"I..." She tried to speak, but her voice failed. Her thoughts were a whirlwind of emotions, and she couldn't get a clear mind. "I don't know..." she finally whispered, her voice trembling. "I don't know what I feel."

Mechamaru's face twisted slightly, but he nodded understandingly. "You don't have to decide right away, Miwa. I just wanted you to know."

Before they could continue talking, however, a crack sounded in the undergrowth, and both turned around abruptly. The presence of Mahito and Geto was very clear, their gloomy silhouettes appeared at the edge of the clearing.

"Well, that was heartwarming," said Mahito with a horrible grin. Geto stood next to him, his gaze cold and calculating. "Do you really think you can escape?"

Miwa's heart stopped again as she looked at Mechamaru, who was already in a defensive position. The fight was not over yet.
