Chapter 4: Study Sessions and Secrets

Micky's heart fluttered as Emily settled into his dorm room. They spent the afternoon studying for their literature exam, their legs touching under the desk.

As the sun dipped outside, Emily closed her book. "I think I've got it."

Micky smiled. "You're a genius."

Emily's eyes sparkled. "Thanks to you."

Their gazes held, and Micky's pulse quickened.

"Emily?" Micky said softly.

"Yeah?"

"Can I ask you something?"

Emily nodded.

"Do you believe in taking risks for love?"

Emily's expression turned thoughtful. "I think love is worth the risk."

Micky's heart skipped a beat.

Just then, his phone buzzed with a text from Kiara.

"Meet me at the coffee shop. We need to talk."

Micky's guilt resurfaced.

"Emily, I have to go," Micky said abruptly.

Emily's face fell. "Okay..."

Micky grabbed his jacket and rushed out, feeling torn.

Coffee Shop Confrontation

Kiara sipped her coffee, her eyes cold.

"You're still seeing her, aren't you?" Kiara accused.

Micky sighed. "Kiara, please-"

"No, Micky. You need to choose."

Micky's heart ached. He couldn't lose either of them.

"I care about you both," Micky admitted.

Kiara's face twisted. "You can't have us both."

Micky knew Kiara was right.

Kiara's words hung in the air like a challenge.

Micky's heart raced. "I know. But I can't just turn off my feelings."

Kiara's expression softened, and for a moment, Micky saw the girl he first fell for.

"Micky, I love you," Kiara whispered. "But I won't share you. Choose me, or lose me."

Micky's world narrowed to two options: break Kiara's heart or risk losing Emily's connection.

The coffee shop's noise faded into the background as Micky made his decision.

"I need time, Kiara. Please."

Kiara's face fell, but she nodded. "You have one week, Micky. Then I'm gone."

As Kiara left, Micky felt the weight of his choice.

Later That Evening

Micky arrived at Emily's dorm room, his mind reeling.

"Hey," Emily said softly, opening the door.

Micky's heart skipped a beat. "Hey."

Later That Evening

Micky arrived at Emily's dorm room, his mind reeling.

"Hey," Emily said softly, opening the door.

Micky's heart skipped a beat. "Hey."

They studied together, their legs touching, and Micky's guilt resurfaced.

"Emily?" Micky said, his voice barely above a whisper.

"Yeah?"

"I have to tell you something."

Emily's eyes locked onto his.
