It was Sunday morning, but for Jhavni, it wasn't just any lazy weekend. The day had finally arrived-the day she would meet her potential groom. The day Jhavni's life might change forever. But for now, she had only one mission: to get out of bed. A mix of nerves and excitement had kept her tossing and turning all night, and she'd overslept, only waking up at 11:30.

She stretched lazily half-asleep , she dragged herself out of bed, reached for her phone, glancing at the time. It was 11:30 AM. Her eyes widened. She shot up, grabbing her toothbrush, and shuffled. Half-awake into the kitchen where her mother was already bustling around.

She was still rubbing her eyes as she mumbled a half-hearted "Good morning" to her mother, who was busy preparing dishes for the guests.

Her mother turned, hands on her hips, eyebrows raised. "Good morning? It's nearly afternoon! Look at the time! How can you be sleeping till now when the family is coming over to see you today?"

Her mother scolded, giving her a look as she stirred a pot on the stove.

"Are we running late?" Jhavni asked

"Yes! Now go, quickly take a bath, eat something, and help me in the kitchen. We have so much to do," her mother said, shooing her toward the stairs.

She quickly retreated from her mother's line of sight and dashed towards her room upstairs.

"Slow down, Jhavni!" her father called from the living room, chuckling as he sipped his tea. "You don't want to tumble down on the day you're meeting your future husband!"

Her heart fluttered at the mention. Her future husband. Was it really happening?

With a grin, she hurried into her room. A mix of excitement and nervousness flared in her chest, making her fingers fumble as she picked out an outfit and sorted her toiletries. She could hardly believe that today might be the beginning of the very story she'd always wanted for herself.

Her mind buzzed with questions as she got ready. What would he be like? Was he the kind, quiet type or someone with a sharp wit? And would he think she was... enough?

After a quick bath, she changed into comfortable clothes and headed back downstairs. Her mother was already planning the snacks and dinner menu, instructing Jhavni on how to prepare each dish.

"Come on, help me with the samosas. I don't want anything out of place today," her mother said, handing her a batch of dough.

Jhavni began rolling, her hands working in practiced rhythm. "So, what do we know about him? Did Dad say anything?"

Her mother glanced at her, hiding a small smile. "I heard he's polite, and he's serious about his work. But you'll have to see for yourself."

She blushed, looking down at the dough she was kneading. "Serious, huh?"

As they continued cooking, the kitchen filled with the savory aroma of frying spices, making her stomach rumble. By mid-afternoon they had their lunch, then completed rest of the work, they'd prepped a small feast of snacks: crispy samosas, golden paneer tikka, and bowls of colorful chutneys.
