TW: illness, overwork, delirium

Yoongi had always been the type to push himself harder than anyone else. His perfectionist nature, combined with the heavy responsibility of being a producer and rapper, meant sleepless nights and endless hours spent in the studio. It wasn’t the first time he had neglected his health for his art, but this time felt different. He’d been grinding for days without a break, his body growing weaker with each passing hour, but he ignored it—just like always.

It started small, just a tickle in his throat and a dull headache that refused to go away. Nothing he couldn't handle, or so he thought. Yoongi had always been the type to brush off illness, to work through the pain, believing that resting meant losing time.

But this time, the exhaustion crept in deeper, the pain more intense. His head throbbed constantly, and his limbs felt like lead. Still, he kept going. There were lyrics to finish, beats to perfect, and the comeback was right around the corner. He didn’t have time to be sick.

In the dorm, it wasn’t long before the other members noticed something was wrong.

"Hyung, are you okay?" Jungkook asked one evening after practice. He had been watching Yoongi closely for a few days now. Yoongi hadn’t been his usual self—quieter, more withdrawn, and he’d barely touched his dinner last night.

"I'm fine, Jungkook. Just tired," Yoongi mumbled, brushing past him on his way to his room. His voice sounded rough, and Jungkook noticed the slight wobble in his step. It didn’t sit well with him.

Jungkook frowned but didn’t push. Instead, he shared his concerns with Jimin and Jin later that night.

"Yoongi-hyung isn’t looking so good," Jungkook said, fidgeting on the couch. "I think he might be sick."

Jin immediately frowned. "Sick? Did he say anything to you?"

Jungkook shook his head. "No, he just said he was tired, but... I don’t know, he looks really pale. And I think he’s lost weight."

Jimin, who had also noticed Yoongi’s lack of energy during practice, nodded in agreement. "Yeah, he’s been pushing himself too hard. He’s always in the studio, and when he’s not there, he’s working on lyrics. I’m worried about him."

"Let’s keep an eye on him," Jin said, his voice filled with concern. "If he doesn’t get better soon, we’ll have to make him rest, even if we have to drag him out of the studio."

The next morning, Yoongi woke up feeling even worse than the night before. His body ached all over, his throat burned, and the headache that had been a constant companion for days was now a full-blown migraine. He could barely lift his head off the pillow, but still, his mind was racing with unfinished tasks. There was so much to do. He couldn’t afford to be sick right now.

He forced himself to get up, moving slowly as he changed into comfortable clothes. He had to go to the studio. Maybe once he got there, he’d feel better. The music would distract him, like it always did.

But when he reached the living room, he ran into Namjoon, who was already awake and sitting at the kitchen table with a cup of coffee. Namjoon immediately noticed something was off. Yoongi looked like he could barely stand.

"Hyung, are you okay?" Namjoon asked, his leader instincts kicking in. He put down his coffee and stood up, his eyes filled with concern.

Yoongi waved him off, his voice barely above a whisper. "I’m fine. Just heading to the studio."
