I let Paul drive me to school. I told him everything that happened yesterday and why I was so upset. I thought Paul would break the steering wheel with how white his knuckles were.

"I wish there was something I could say that would make your pain go away." Paul had said when he parked at the school.

I placed my chin on his shoulder as I said softly, "You don't have to say anything. You do that, just by being with me. By loving me."

"I hope that's enough." Paul replied.

"It is. You are." I spoke.

Paul leaned his forehead against my shoulder, and we stayed that way for a while. Then there was a sharp hit against the hood of my jeep. Paul and I jerked up and looked out the front window. I saw Bella standing there with her hands on her nonexistent hips, a pissy look on her face.

I felt Paul's body begin to shake as he glared daggers at Bella. I saw how fear passed over Bella's features before she tried to cover it up. I don't blame her, if looks could kill Bella would be six feet under. Looking back at Paul, I placed my hand on his chin slightly and turned his head to look at me. Gently, I pressed my lips against his. Pulling away only after I felt his lips press against mine own.

"I'll deal with her. You should go, I know Sam's waiting." I said, softly.

Paul frowned as he replied, "Are you sure?"

I nodded before saying, "Yeah, as funny as it would be to see Bella's face if you wolf out in front of her, I don't think that's a very good idea."

Paul smiled slightly as he replied, "I bet she'd piss herself, or faint."

I giggled at the image, saying, "I would pay money to see that."

"Come on." Paul said as he opened the driver's side door.

Paul got out and offered his hand to help me out. I took it as I hopped out of my Jeep. Paul slammed the door shut, since it doesn't close if you do it softly. I stood on my toes and kissed Paul before saying goodbye. Paul left, walking down the road as if he were heading to town, but I knew he'd veer into the woods to phase before running back to the reservation. I looked to Bella to see her staring at where Paul disappeared down the road.

"What'd you want, Bella?" I asked, walking around the hood of my car to pass her.

"That's you boyfriend?" Bella asked, tripping after me.

"Yes." I answer, as we walk into school.

"He's way out of your league." Bella said as I reached my locker.

I grabbed my books and slammed the door before replying, "I got lucky. He's insanely hot and loyal. What more can a girl ask for?"

I walked away quickly, trying to avoid another outburst like yesterday. I hate how I let her mess with me like that and let her see that it worked. Bella was having trouble keeping up with me since she was tripping over her feet and into other people. I beat her to class but a few minutes later she came walking in and sat beside me.

"Listen, Chris," I looked at Bella as she began, "I just wanted to apologize for what I said yesterday. It was mean and I'm sorry."

I stared at her in shock and tried to think of something to say until Bella continued, "But you really overreacted. I didn't know you were so sensitive. Anyway, are you coming home today?"

I just stared at her, my jaw slack in surprise. Is she serious? I am sensitive. I overreacted. She was trying to start something! She was trying to make me look like a slut in front of her friends! The bell rang and the teacher began the lesson. I ignored Bella the rest of the day and eventually she stopped talking to me. I went to art instead of lunch and finished my painting. We were allowed to take them home today and I was happy about that. I promised to give it to Leah.
