As the 2024 Formula 1 season drew to a close, Franco felt a whirlwind of emotions. He had achieved so much—scoring in every race, fighting tooth and nail in his debut season for Williams. But with the looming uncertainty of his future, there was a sense of melancholy that lingered. He had no contract yet for the next season, and the final race brought a bittersweet sense of finality.

Williams decided to honor him with a heartfelt farewell in their garage after the last race, the crew gathering around him, clapping and cheering as they recounted his best moments, his triumphs, and the spirit he brought to the team. They gifted him a framed photo of his first podium celebration—a reminder of what he had accomplished against all odds.

Franco stood there, overwhelmed. His eyes glistened as he looked at the team who had become his second family. "I don't even know what to say..." he began, his voice cracking with emotion. "This season has been a dream come true for me. You all made it possible—every mechanic, every engineer, everyone. I will never forget what we built together here."

Christina stood quietly in the corner, watching him. She could see how much the moment meant to him, and it made her heart swell with pride. But she also felt the weight of uncertainty for him. Franco still didn't know where he would be next year, and that weighed heavily on them both.

That night, back in their hotel room, Franco seemed quieter than usual. He lay on the bed, staring at the ceiling, lost in thought. Chris climbed in beside him, resting her head on his chest. "What's on your mind, mi amor?" she asked gently.

He sighed deeply, his fingers threading through her hair. "My parents... they want me to come back to Buenos Aires for a while. They think it'll be good for me to take a break, to clear my head before anything happens. But... I don't want to leave you, Christina."

Chris's heart sank. She had been dreading this conversation, knowing how much pressure Franco's family had been putting on him. "Maybe it's what you need," she whispered, though the words were hard to say. "A break might give you some clarity. But we'll figure it out, right? No matter what."

Franco turned to her, his eyes filled with sorrow. "I don't want to be away from you. I've never felt like this with anyone before. What if... what if something changes while I'm gone?"

Chris shook her head, cupping his face in her hands. "Nothing will change, Franco. We're stronger than that. Distance doesn't mean anything when you love someone as much as I love you." Tears filled her eyes as she spoke, her voice cracking under the weight of the moment. "We'll make it work, no matter what. I promise."

They held each other tightly that night, the fear of separation hanging over them like a shadow. In the days that followed, Franco prepared to leave for Buenos Aires, and they spent every last moment together. On the day of his departure, they both cried, clinging to each other as though letting go would somehow break them apart.

"I love you, Christina," he whispered as they stood at the airport gate, his hands gripping hers. "I'll call you every day. I'll be back before you know it."

Chris nodded, tears streaming down her face. "I'll be waiting. Always."

The weeks after Franco's departure were tough. Chris tried to keep herself busy with work, but everything reminded her of him—the smell of his cologne still lingered in their apartment, and she kept catching herself looking at her phone, waiting for his messages. They talked every day, but the distance was hard, and she could hear the sadness in his voice each time they hung up.

Then, one morning, everything changed.

Chris was in a meeting when her phone buzzed with a message from Franco. She glanced at it, expecting the usual "I miss you" or a picture of Buenos Aires, but instead, it read: "I got the call from Sauber/Audi. It's happening. I'm going to be racing for them next season."

Her heart leaped. Without thinking, she excused herself from the meeting and rushed outside to call him. "Franco! Is it true?" she asked, barely able to contain her excitement.

"Yes, Christina, it's true! They just offered me the contract. I'm going to be on the grid next year with Sauber—can you believe it?"

Chris's voice cracked with joy. "I knew it! I knew you'd get it, Franco. I'm so proud of you."

He chuckled on the other end of the line, and she could hear the relief in his voice. "I can't wait to come back to Monaco and celebrate with you. Everything's finally falling into place, Christina."
