the light fluttering sounds of the helicopter blades slowly ceased as Clarice walked out onto the green grass of the elusive Isla khyanalt..well, it would be considered "elusive" if it wasn't for the giant glass dome that was on it that encased a tall skyscraper within.
"oh, sir Thomas..even when your a smart and powerful man, you still somehow manage to make your so called "secret" research sites stick out like a sore thumb.." Clarice mumbled as she walked forwards to the front of the giant dome, where both a pair of sliding doors and a hand identification scanner were.
Clarice proceeded to put her hand onto the scanner, waiting for the doors to open so she could be let in.
"Access granted, welcome back to Reclamation Corp, Clarice"
the robotic voice that spoke faded out as the doors opened, allowing Clarice to walk in.
as she walked towards the gigantic skyscraper infront of her, she suddenly caught sight of someone nearby, who appeared to be going to the skyscraper, like how she was.
eventhough the person was far away, Clarice sighed as she knew exactly who it was.
of course, it was that cowardly fool, Oliver.
"well hey there, new guy.." Clarice said as she walked over to Oliver.
"GAH!- agh, jesus..why on earth did you sneak up on me like that?!- wh-who even are you?!" Oliver said in a shakey tone as Clarice simply chuckled to herself in amusement at how scared and confused Oliver had become just because she snuck up behind him.
"heh..the name is Clarice, is this your first day on the job down at the Reclamation Corporation research site?" Clarice asked while tilting her head as Oliver stared at her while his body shuddered a little.
"uh..y-yeah, today's my very first day.." Oliver responded shakily.
"well, if that's the case, then you better calm yourself down here at this place..cowards like you don't usually live long enough to see the end of your shift" Clarice said in a casual tone of voice as Oliver felt his heart sink.
"..do you mean that as in I'll get fired?" Oliver asked.
"no, I mean that as in if you screw up here, you'll end up getting shot by another employee because they think your annoying" Clarice responded.
"..I would usually try to help you get settled, but I have a very important meeting to attend to, so unfortunately, your on your own" Clarice said as she walked through the skyscrapers sliding doors.
"I hope to see you in one piece by the end of the shift, Oliver!"
with that, the doors soon closed shut behind Clarice, leaving Oliver alone and terrified.
the outside area of the dome was filled with nothing but grass and basic shrubbery, but within the actual skyscraper that Clarice was walking in, it was a completely different setting.
everything around her, to simply put it, looked as if it had came from the future.
all of the walls and ceilings were a pure, shiny white, the floors were so well polished that you could see your reflection in it if you looked down, and pretty much everywhere, Clarice could see many other employees either filing papers or chatting with eachother in small groups.
