TW!!!!!/// There are mentions of suicide, please read with caution.

We looked around my house a little bit to see if Haruka's hat was around anywhere, we searched for around 15 or so minutes but we couldn't find anything in the end. "Do you think it could've gone farther away?" Haruka stared at me and nodded her head, we looked around my neighborhood to see if we could find anything,

Haruka even knocked on a couple of peoples' doors. I was to afraid to do it, I don't like wasting people's time. We walked around my house just in case we hadn't seen it but nothing turned up. "Maybe we won't find it..." she said while having her head down, I felt really bad for her, "We'll find it. I swear on that." I smiled at Haruka and she looked happier I had said that.

A half hour later

We still couldn't find her hat and I was starting to lose hope, I said a little earlier if we couldn't find anything in around 5 minutes we'd head over to main street. It had been around 10 or so minutes so I decided we should start walking towards main street. That's when I saw it, the Asahina residence. My heart started to beat faster in a bad way, it felt harder to breathe, memories came back like a flash flood.

"Dear Kanade, I'm sorry I wasn't able to meet the future you. I hope you can continue to make music and never give up, I am  truly sorry again." I got flashbacks to her note,

....Her suicide note.

Everything started to feel blurry and not real, then everything turned black. I saw her briefly in a meadow of red spider lilies, her dark purple pony tail swaying softly in the wind. I tried running to her but as soon as she appeared she was gone. "....Kanade...!" I heard somebody yell, a loud thud came after that. I felt somebody shake me, I awoke to see....Mafuyu? No... it was Haruka. Her eyes were like an ocean with a soft current, "Haru...ka?" I mumbled while trying to look up at her but my head felt like somebody threw a boulder at it. "Ah! You're awake are you... are you okay, Kanade?!" Haruka seemed like she was on the verge of tears, "I think I'm okay-" I felt like I was about to scream, my head felt like somebody shot it now. I felt like I was going to die. I woke up to somebody speaking in a different language and in my bedroom, Haruka was casting a... spell on me? "Oh my goodness, are you all right now Kanade? I casted a healing spell on you for your head, but do you feel better now?" She seemed to be very happy I was awake, I actually felt a lot better. "I feel a whole lot better... thank you, Haruka." Haruka shut her eyes and smiled.

Haruka had told me that she took me back to my house after I fainted in the street, she told me that though my head injury wasn't fatal and she had used healing magic, I should still rest for a couple of days.

Haruka is very kind and sweet, even if she almost burned my kitchen down... 'Dear Kanade,'... No, I don't wanna remember that... 'I'm sorry' Please... Just stop it.... just stop everything. I held my head down a put my hands over my ears. 'I'm tired!' Stop it stop it, please. I felt my chest get tighter and it was harder to breathe now, it's my fault that Mafuyu isn't here anymore, I don't deserve the right to feel sad. "Kanade? Kanade!" I heard somebody yelling out my name, Haruka was standing in front of me holding my hand.

Her hands were, warm. Nice feeling... My hands were probably cold compared to her. She stared at me in worry, "Are you okay? you were shaking and breathing heavily. Do you want to tell me anything?" She had a face full of worries aimed at me, I knew I would've had to tell her at some point. "...I do, actually. Does 'suicide' exist back in your world?" I looked at her with a sad expression and she was surprised I asked that,

"Yes, it does." She looked a little scared at what I was going to say next. "I once had a close friend named Mafuyu, we were in a musical group together called Niigo(Nightcord at 25:00). Their were two other members but I haven't spoken to them since. Mafuyu didn't have a good mother, when I would see Mafuyu in the Sekai she would never have a shine in her eyes. One day, I got a call from Mafuyu, I answered she only said 'Goodbye.' then the line cut off. I went over to her house and then I saw her note. 'Dear Kanade, I'm sorry I wasn't able to meet the future you. I hope you can continue to make music and never give up, I am truly sorry again.' I had ran up to her room just to see her... hanging b-b...body." I felt tears waver in my eyes, Haruka gave me a hug. I could hear her crying too, "I'm so sorry you had to go through that, this must've been hard to say. I'm proud of you." My tears soon turned into water works, I hugged Haruka back tight. When I shut my eyes I could've sworn I saw Mafuyu smile and mouth the words "Thank you."

I hugged Haruka tighter while we were crying into each others shoulders. I felt happy and like a huge weight had been lifted off of my shoulders. "Thank you, Haruka." I wiped my eyes and so did she, "Thank you for telling me Kanade." Haruka smiled at me sweetly.

Goodbye, Mafuyu. Rest well.

I thank the miracle that led me to You. (Haruka/Kanade)Where stories live. Discover now
