The Pyrian Eclipse is a rare and powerful celestial event, one that has long been shrouded in both fear and reverence. As the twin moons of Pyrya align with the sun, they cast a shadow over the planet, plunging it into darkness for a brief but intense period. During this time, the Eternal Flame is said to be at its most vulnerable, its power fluctuating as the celestial bodies exert their gravitational pull on the planet's core.
You stand on the highest peak of the Temple of Flame, the sky above you darkening as the eclipse begins. The air is thick with anticipation, and the ground beneath you trembles as if the planet itself is reacting to the alignment of the moons. The Flamespeakers are gathered below, their chants echoing through the temple as they perform the ancient rituals meant to protect the flame during the eclipse.
But something is different this time. The flame, which has always burned brightly during previous eclipses, now flickers erratically, its light dimming as the shadow of the moons passes over it. The ground shakes more violently, and the air is filled with the smell of sulfur and molten rock. The eclipse has always been a time of renewal for the Flamespeakers, but now it feels like something far more ominous.
As the eclipse reaches its peak, the light from the sun is completely blocked out, and the Eternal Flame flares brighter than ever before. The ground beneath the temple cracks open, and streams of molten lava surge up from the planet's core, flooding the temple grounds. The Flamespeakers scatter in panic, their chants drowned out by the roar of the molten rivers as they consume everything in their path.
You watch as the flame flickers one last time, then bursts into a brilliant, blinding light that fills the sky. The energy from the planet's core surges upward, breaking through the surface and tearing the ground apart. The Pyrian Eclipse has always been a time of reflection and renewal, but now it has become a cataclysm—a moment of destruction that will reshape the future of Pyrya.
