The Next Morning
Sunlight streamed through the hospital room window, casting a warm glow across the pale walls. The soft sound of beeping machines filled the air, a steady reminder of Lucy's condition. She stirred awake, feeling the warmth of Tim still enveloping her. For a moment, everything felt normal, as if the chaos of the past few days had been a bad dream.
But as reality settled back in, the memories of the previous night came rushing back. The pain, the fight, the distance that had grown between them. She shifted slightly, trying not to disturb Tim, but as she moved, a sharp pang shot through her side, causing her to wince.
"Lucy?" Tim murmured, stirring awake at the sound of her discomfort. He blinked a few times, looking disoriented before focusing on her face. "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine," she said instinctively, but the tremor in her voice betrayed her.
He propped himself up on one elbow, concern etching deeper lines on his forehead. "You don't look fine. Did the pain come back?"
She hesitated, weighing her pride against her pain. "It's just a little sore," she admitted, her gaze shifting to the window. "I didn't sleep well."
"Yeah, well, you've had a rough night." He brushed a hand across her forehead, feeling the warmth of her skin. "We need to get the nurse in here. You shouldn't have to suffer alone."
Lucy opened her mouth to protest but closed it again, knowing that fighting him would only prolong the inevitable. Tim had always been the one to care too much, and in this moment, she needed that.
"Fine," she relented, finally meeting his gaze. "But I don't want any pity."
He smiled gently, a warmth spreading through his chest at her stubbornness. "No pity, I promise. Just support. You deserve that much."
As Tim pressed the call button, Lucy lay back against the pillow, staring at the ceiling. The tension from their earlier fight lingered like a shadow, but there was also a flicker of hope in the air. Maybe they could work through this together.

In the Hallway
Jackson stood outside the hospital room, glancing down at his phone. He was waiting for the latest update on the case they were working on, but his mind kept drifting back to Lucy and Tim. He had seen the way Tim had rushed to Lucy's side after the incident, and it tugged at his curiosity.
When the nurse came out, he approached her. "How is Lucy doing?"
"She's awake, and we're just checking in on her pain management," the nurse replied with a smile. "It's a process, but she's a fighter."
Jackson nodded, grateful to hear that. "I figured she would be. Has Tim been with her?"
"Of course. He's been really attentive," she said, tilting her head. "It's sweet, actually. They seem very close."
Jackson's brow furrowed slightly at that. He had always known there was something special about Tim and Lucy's relationship, and the way they worked together both at home and on the job spoke volumes. "Yeah, they've been through a lot together," he said, keeping his voice casual.
"Just remember, she's still in recovery," the nurse advised. "Support means everything right now."
"Absolutely," Jackson replied, watching as the nurse returned to Lucy's room. He thought about Tim's growing relationship with Lucy. If they were that close, what was going on behind the scenes that Jackson didn't know?

Back in Lucy's Room
Tim returned to Lucy's side, a soft smile on his face as he settled in. "The nurse is on her way. You don't have to be tough right now, Lucy. You can let it out."
