Amy and Shadow were sitting on the couch watching a movie. As the movie progressed Shadow noticed that his girlfriend would keep scooting closer to him. Eventually halfway through the movie she was leaning completely against him. The dark hedgehog smile and closed his eyes, letting his head lean back against the cushion as he felt her hands gently pet his chest fur.
He has never truly felt so... relaxed before. He sunk deeper into the cushion, not paying mind to his girlfriend who was not playing with his quills. When suddenly
Puurrrrrrrrr
Shadow jerked up instantly while Amy began to laugh.
Amy: "Shady!! Your purr is so cute!"
He looked away, his hand moving to cover his now glowing muzzle.
Amy: "Awww, you liked that didn't you?~"
She playfully poked his cheek watching as the redness was now spreading across his face. To most it would be hard to tell, but Amy knew a trick. When Shadow is super embarrassed, his ears glow red. She glanced at them only to see them bent and glowing from embarrassment.
Amy: "Shadow it's okay we all purr when we're really relaxed! Although... yours is the cutest I have ever heard!"
She hugged her boyfriend and kissed his cheek over and over until he finally had a smile on his face.
Shadow: "Please stop with the teasing... I didn't even know I could do that!"
After saying that, over the years, Amy made it her goal to make sure that Shadow would be safe to relax around her always. Each purr making her beam, knowing that she was his safe space... and he was hers.
