    The waves crashed violently against the rocky shore, the air thick with salt and tension. Taehyung, a striking merman with a shimmering blue tail and flowing blue hair that danced like seaweed in the current, peered cautiously from beneath the water’s surface. His heart raced as he watched the distant figure of a sailor preparing his boat for the storm.

“Damn it, Jeongguk! You’re going to get yourself killed out there!” Taehyung murmured, his voice barely above a whisper as he watched the handsome sailor tighten the ropes on his small vessel.

Jeongguk, with his sun-kissed skin and determined expression, glanced out at the churning sea, a mixture of excitement and defiance in his eyes. “It’s just a storm, Taehyung! I’ve faced worse!” he shouted, his voice carrying over the roar of the waves.

“Just a storm?” Taehyung exclaimed, surfacing slightly, his tail glistening in the dim light. “You’re not just a sailor; you’re a target! The hunters will be out in full force!”

“Hunters?” Jeongguk scoffed, shaking his head. “I can handle them. I’ve got my harpoon, and I know these waters better than anyone.”

“Don’t be reckless!” Taehyung pleaded, his heart aching at the thought of losing the one person who made his heart race. “Please, promise me you’ll stay close to the shore.”

Jeongguk’s gaze softened as he looked at Taehyung, his blue eyes locking onto the merman’s. “I promise I’ll be careful. But I can’t just sit on the shore while the storm rages. I need to sail. It’s what I do.”

“Then let me come with you,” Taehyung blurted out, surprising even himself.

“Are you serious?” Jeongguk raised an eyebrow, a mix of amusement and disbelief on his face. “You want to come aboard my tiny boat?”

“I can’t just sit here and watch you risk your life! Besides, I can help!” Taehyung insisted, determination shining in his eyes.

“Fine,” Jeongguk said, grinning. “But you better hold on tight. It’s going to be a wild ride.”

As Taehyung swam close to the boat, Jeongguk tossed down a rope. With a graceful flick of his tail, Taehyung secured himself to the vessel. Jeongguk pulled him aboard, and they set off toward the horizon, the storm clouds gathering ominously above.

   The wind howled as they sailed further from the shore, the waves growing taller and more menacing. Taehyung clung to the side of the boat, his heart pounding. “This was a bad idea!” he shouted over the wind.

“Just hold on!” Jeongguk laughed, his excitement infectious despite the brewing storm. “You’re going to love this!”

Suddenly, a crack of thunder split the air, and the first drops of rain began to fall. “Shit! We need to turn back!” Taehyung yelled, panic rising in his chest.

“Just a little longer! I want to see the thrill of the storm!” Jeongguk shouted back, his eyes shining with a reckless thrill.

But before Taehyung could reply, a flash of movement caught his eye. “Jeongguk, look out!” he screamed, pointing toward a shadowy figure emerging from the depths.

The hunters had arrived.

“Get down!” Jeongguk yelled, instinctively reaching for his harpoon as a boat filled with armed hunters surged toward them. “Taehyung, hold on!”

Taehyung’s heart raced as he dove into the water, his tail propelling him beneath the surface. He glanced back at Jeongguk, who was preparing to defend himself.

“Stay back!” Jeongguk shouted, aiming his harpoon at the approaching hunters. “I won’t let you take him!”

“Just give up, sailor! Hand over the mermaid, and we’ll let you live!” one of the hunters called out, a twisted grin on his face.
