Happy Reading and Happy Halloween 🎃
------

The hotel loomed in the distance, its silhouette stark against the night sky. It was the heart of winter, and the snow fell heavily, blanketing the ground in a haunting silence. The world was drenched in darkness, with only the faint, flickering glow of streetlights illuminating the path leading up to the infamous Winter Hotel.

Taehyung and Jeongguk exchanged uneasy glances as they approached the towering structure.

They'd heard the stories—the rumors of guests who'd entered but never left, the mysterious fires, the unsettling sounds at night—but they were too curious to turn back.

Alongside them were their friends: Yoongi, Jimin, Jin, Hoseok, and Namjoon, each carrying a sense of nervous excitement. This was supposed to be a fun, spontaneous visit—a dare, nothing more.

As they stepped inside, the temperature seemed to drop. The lobby was empty, and only the eerie echo of their footsteps greeted them. A large, dust-covered chandelier hung precariously from the ceiling, casting shadows that danced with each flickering light.

"Creepy," Jin whispered, his voice barely breaking the silence. He adjusted his hair, a habitual gesture that betrayed his vanity even in this unsettling place.

"Let's split up and explore," Yoongi suggested with a smirk, his eyes gleaming with a reckless thrill. "Think of it as... a game." He puffed out his chest, the pride in his voice evident.

They all hesitated but eventually nodded, agreeing to meet back in the lobby in thirty minutes.

Taehyung and Jeongguk took the creaking staircase to the second floor. The corridors were endless and narrow, and the wallpaper peeled away in sickly shades of green.

Jeongguk spotted an old, rusted key hanging on a nail by one of the doors, marked Room 213.

"Do you think anyone lives here?" he asked, his voice barely a whisper.

Taehyung shook his head. "Not for a long time... but let's see if it still opens."

They pushed open the door, and the room was ice-cold. As they stepped inside, a gust of wind swept through, slamming the door shut behind them. They jumped, laughing nervously to mask their growing fear.

The room was dark except for a dim candle in the corner, flickering as if fighting to stay alive. Shadows twisted on the walls, casting eerie shapes. The air was thick with the scent of decay.

"I don't like this," Jeongguk muttered, inching closer to Taehyung. He felt a familiar pang of envy for Taehyung's seeming fearlessness.  "Let's find the others."

As they turned to leave, they noticed something strange. Written on the fogged-up mirror above the dresser was a message: Hide and seek... play or die.

Jeongguk's face drained of color. "Did... did one of them write this as a joke?"

Taehyung shook his head, staring at the words, his throat dry. "No one else came up here. We would have heard them."

A sudden, agonizing scream echoed from down the hall. It was Jin.

They bolted out of the room, sprinting through the twisting corridors, only to skid to a halt as they reached the lobby. Jin was nowhere to be seen. Instead, they found Yoongi and Jimin standing near a dusty fireplace, their faces pale. Yoongi was biting his lip, his usual arrogance replaced with fear. Jimin wrung his hands, his eyes darting around nervously.
