Rain slammed against the windows of the cramped photography studio where Kim Taehyung and Jeon Jungkook stood, glaring at each other from across the room.

Their rivalry wasn't a secret—everyone in the agency knew. They were the golden boys of the industry: Taehyung, the enigmatic model with a face sculpted by gods, and Jungkook, the talented photographer known for his flawless shots and razor-sharp attitude.

And today? They were forced to work together for the first time.

"Just stand still," Jungkook snapped, adjusting the lens on his camera. "You're making this harder than it has to be."

Taehyung crossed his arms. "Maybe if you weren't barking orders like a drill sergeant, this wouldn't be so hard."

"You're impossible," Jungkook muttered, pinching the bridge of his nose. He leaned back, his dark eyes narrowing as he assessed Taehyung through the lens.

"And you're insufferable," Taehyung shot back, his lips quirking into a smirk.

It had been years of this—snide remarks, cold stares, and whispered jabs behind the scenes. Taehyung was everything Jungkook couldn't stand: smug, effortlessly talented, and utterly charming in a way that Jungkook found infuriating.

Meanwhile, Taehyung thought Jungkook was too uptight and arrogant, always hiding behind that stupidly handsome face of his.

"Let's just get through this," Jungkook said, exasperated. He aimed the camera again. "One good shot. That's all I need."

Taehyung rolled his eyes but let out a sigh of surrender. "Fine. But make it quick. I've got better things to do than pose for you, Jeon."

Jungkook clenched his jaw. He ignored the heat rising in his chest and raised the camera. Through the viewfinder, Taehyung's features came into sharp focus—his soft, parted lips, the curve of his jawline, the way his brown eyes glimmered with mischief even when he was irritated.

"Stop glaring," Jungkook grumbled, trying to focus on the shot.

"I'm not glaring," Taehyung muttered. "This is my face."

Jungkook snapped a few photos, trying to ignore how annoyingly beautiful that face was.

Silence stretched between them, only broken by the soft clicks of the camera and the pattering rain outside. Jungkook was surprised when Taehyung's expression began to shift—his cocky demeanor melting away into something softer, more genuine. His gaze lingered on Jungkook, the teasing look gone, replaced by something Jungkook couldn't quite place.

"You're not half-bad at this," Taehyung admitted, voice low.

Jungkook looked up from the camera, his brow lifting in surprise. "Did you just compliment me?"

Taehyung shrugged, his lips curling into a faint smile. "Don't get used to it."

Something shifted between them in that moment—something subtle but undeniable. Jungkook felt it, too, like a thread being tugged loose from a tangle of tension. The years of resentment, the bickering, the hostility...it all felt oddly insignificant now.

Jungkook lowered the camera, meeting Taehyung's gaze head-on. "Why do we hate each other again?"

Taehyung blinked as if caught off guard. "I... don't know." He tilted his head, the corners of his lips quirking. "Maybe I just like getting under your skin."

Jungkook let out a soft laugh, the kind he hadn't meant to release. "Well, you're annoyingly good at it."

They stood there, the rain tapping gently against the glass, a strange but comfortable silence settling between them. Jungkook wasn't annoyed by Taehyung's presence for the first time in years. And for the first time, Taehyung didn't feel the need to provoke Jungkook.

"You know," Taehyung said after a moment, "you're not as bad as I thought."

    "Neither are you," Jungkook admitted.

Taehyung's smile softened, and Jungkook felt a flicker of something unfamiliar—a warmth spreading in his chest that he couldn't quite explain.

The camera hung around his neck as Taehyung stepped closer, closing the distance between them.

"Maybe," Taehyung murmured, his voice quieter now, "we don't have to hate each other anymore."

Jungkook's heart skipped a beat as he looked into Taehyung's eyes—no longer full of challenge but something gentler.

"Yeah," Jungkook whispered, a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. "Maybe."

And in that tiny studio, with the rain falling softly outside, two rivals found something unexpected—a spark that had always been there, hidden beneath years of tension and misunderstandings.

A new beginning in the unlikeliest of places.
