When Usman came to the kitchen looking for his bhabhi and saw Haleema there, he walked over to her.

Haleema was busy with her work, but upon seeing Usman  she asked, “Kya hua aapko kuch kam tha usman?”

Standing near the kitchen counter, Usman replied, “Mujhe koi kam nhi hai bas kuch puchne aya hun.”

Haleema looked at him in surprise and said, “Kya puchna hai aapne?”

Usman was quite serious today. He got straight to the point and said, “Bhabhi aapko us chudail ne kya kaha jiski wajah se aap bhai se kafa hai?”

Haleema glanced at Usman, standing in front of her, and then replied, “Kisne kaha mai apke bhai se kafa hun?”

Usman said, “Bhai ka yun jana hi is baat ki gawahi de raha ki wo kisi baat se bhut jada kafa hai aur wo apna gussa ghar walon pe nhi nikalna chahte isliye wo subah subah ghar se chale gye.”

Haleema went silent after hearing that. She had no words to say. At that moment, she felt ashamed of herself for not realizing what she should have known. Lost in her thoughts, she remained quiet.

Usman spoke again, “batyein bhabhi mujhe yakeen hai ki chudail ne hi kuch kaha hoga.”

Haleema  snapping out of her thoughts  replied, “Usman aapka bhut bhut sukriya ye baat btane ke liye mujhe waqyi samjh nhi araha tha ki kya karu khair ab samjh agaya hai mujhe.”

Usman said, “meri pyari bhabhi sukriya kis baat ki ye mera faraz tha apko btana.”

Haleema replied, “lekin fir bhi aapko sukriya kehna banta tha na?”

Usman said, “bhabhi aap se mai kuch nhi puchunga bas ek baat khaunga aagar aap sunana chahengi to.”

Haleema said, “are aap bolo Usman mai sun rhai hun.”

In a cold voice  Usman said, “bhabhi aap is chudail ki kahi hui koi bhi baat ka bharosa nhi kijiye ga wo ek aala darje ki juthi hai.”

Haleema said, “haan sahi kaha ab mai usko btaungi dekhte jao.”

Usman replied, “bilkul shi kaha aap ne.”

Haleema asked, “ek baat btao Usman apne bhai ki itni fikar hai tumhe lekin unko chadne ka ek mauka hath se nhi jane dete.”

Laughing and running his fingers through his Usman said, “Wo kya hai chota hun na isliye unko pareshaan karta rehta hun taki wo mujhe bhule na.”

Haleema laughed and said, “Tum aur tumahre jawaab dono hi mashallah hai.”

Usman bowed slightly and said, “Sukriya ,Sukriya”

Then Usman said, Alright quickly get breakfast ready. I’ll help if needed, I’m really starving.

Haleema said, Wait in the lounge  I’ll send it over in a little while through a servant.

Usman replied, Alright  and left. After a while, Haleema prepared everything, placed it on a tray, and sent it through a servant.

It was 11:30 PM, and Haleema had been waiting there for the past hour. She finally dialed Umar’s number. Umar answered the call on the first ring, and just as he was about to say something, Haleema spoke first.

Haleema, scolding him angrily, said, “Aapne ghar nhi ana kya?”

Umar calmly replied, “raste mein hun bas kuch waqt mein phuch jaunga.”

Haleema said, “Thik hai fir Jaldi ayein.”

Umar responded with a simple “hmm” and disconnected the call.
