In the hushed huge living room , maids and guards came in and stood in cohesive lines. Their stance filled with a little fear seeing the patriarch of the house in front of them.

Once everyone was inside Ahaana gestured to Shalini to message one of the kids to come in the room with Devika.

Rishi and Saanvi first entered and then Devika with Devaansh on her tail with his gaze fixed on her. They stood altogether, their shared moments a testament to the support offered in that very moment.

"Lift your gaze and meet our guest" Sudesh's authoritative and commanding voice resonated through the air, making the workers look up with anticipation and peak curiosity. Finding an unknown , golden haired girl standing with the youngsters of the family they bowed a little, the gesture displaying their status. It was a custom which has been running for many years, yet was always disapproved by the elders of the family now. Many predictions came to the attendants mind, curiously looking at her thinking who she might be.

Each of the kin looked at them keenly , trying to figure out who would give a reaction upon seeing her. However, their hope shattered when they received none.

"She is beautiful, ma'am" the head maid among them remarked with a smile , her elderly features showcasing. Hushed whispers came from in between, one of which caught Devaansh's attention."But who is she?" a girl maybe in her teens, questioned her mother who was beside her with her eyes cast downwards.

"She is-" Saanvi, standing beside her brother made an attempt to reply but was cut in the middle "My girlfriend" Devaansh, with an admiring and proud voice, answered. His gaze held her grey eyes in an enchanting eye contact.

Just in the moment, a woman entered with her head covered with her saree's palu "I..I am sorry.. woh mera beta bimaar hai toh dair ho gai" she explained , her sound low and formal.

(My son was ill that's why I am late)

"It's okay Sakshi. Come inside" Ahaana politely invited her in. She came and stood beside her other coworkers. "We were introducing our guest to everyone" she smiled and gestured towards Devika.

"She is my dev's girlfriend" although for her elderly experiences, the word sounded offbeat yet her utterance held affection for both of them. Sakshi looked up at Ahaana with a smile , her gaze moving to Devika.

In a flash , the polite, respectful smile wavered as her gaze fell upon Devika. Her crinkling eyes regained their original stoic expression.

And the change in her visage gave the kin an approving smirk. Dismissing the attendants , Ahaana deliberately engaged Sakshi in her own personal tasks to make sure she stays in her sight.

The room's eerie quietude hung like a pall. The siblings hesitantly stood in front of their father. The words were caught in their throat. Each contemplating from where to start and pour out their pent up feelings.

"I found an old diary from your room. Some initials were written in it. Was that Radhika bua's?" Devaansh asked in a hushed tone. His father nodded , standing up from his chair and keeping a hand on each one of them's shoulders , he gently pushed them forward and made them sit on the sofa.

Kneeling in front of them, a tired , sad smile adorned his face "maafi maangna chahta hu tum dono se par kabhi pyaar krnay ki himat nahi ki toh iski bhi himat na kar ska" he whispered, voice trembling with emotion.

(I want to apologize to both of you, but I never dared to love you, so I couldn't even apologize)

Saanvi's eyes instantly filled with tears. Her small heart , even after doubting and hating their father, couldn't dare to see him shedding tears of regret. She gazed at her brother who was sitting beside her and then back at her father, biting her lips to keep her emotions in control yet she failed.
