Aki stretched his arms as he let out a small yawn and took time to sit up. He had still felt so tired, despite getting a decent amount of sleep.
After he rubbed his eyes, he checked his clock and sighed, realising that he had woken up before his alarm could go off.
As annoying as it was, there wasn't anything he could do about it now - if he went back to sleep, he wouldn't wake up for another hour or so and today, there was a mission; he couldn't afford to waste time.
He practically forced himself to get off his bed and groggily made his way towards his door to leave.
Though all tiredness had left him the second, he was greeted by Kaiya's pink eyes staring directly into his blue ones once he had opened his door.
Even if he had wanted to, there was absolutely no way he could hide how startled he was and involuntarily let out a deep yelp at the sudden sight of her.
(I can't imagine his voice going high pitched). At this, Kaiya had let out a small yelp of her own and faced him with slight urgency - lost and confused on why he had reacted in that way.
"Wha-What's wrong?"
She sputtered with surprise."You! Why the hell are you just standing outside of my door like that? You want to kill me??"
Aki responded, his face a slight scowl as he calmed his breathing."No. You're the one who wants to kill me, silly."
"Just answer the question, fiend."
Kaiya found herself slightly smiling and cleared her throat.
"Good morning, Aki!"
She then says with pride."..What?"
Was all Aki said, being the confused one this time."Good morning. This is what humans say to each other when they see one another in the morning, no?"
Kaiya pointed out and looked up at him with a small frown, thinking that maybe she had gotten it wrong."Well, yes..but there's no need to wait to see me just to say it. You could've just let it happen naturally. How long were you standing out here, anyway?"
Aki explained, slightly shaking his head as he couldn't process the fact that she really just stood outside his bedroom door, waiting for him to come out - all to say, 'good morning.'"Oh, I don't know. Twelve..fifteen minutes?"
Aki's eyes slightly widened - he hated to admit it, but there seemed to never be a dull moment with this fiend around.
"But it doesn't matter because I did what I wanted to do. Plus, Mr Kishibe told me this is a good way to be..friendly?"
Kaiya states, a little confused - as she wasn't sure if she had remembered correctly.Aki found himself holding back a smile and slightly sighed.
"I don't think he told you that it doesn't have to be the first thing you do when you wake up. Like I said, let it be natural next time."
He tells her, crossing his arms and leaning against his opened door."..And every time, please."
Kaiya simply nodded in understanding before staring up at him, taking the time to observe him - almost as if it was just the first time she had seen him.
Surprisingly, Aki hadn't taken this weirdly and only stared back at her; wondering what could possibly be going through her mind.
"What is it now?"
"Oh, um. Sorry, I just haven't seen you with your hair out before."
Kaiya explained, already having familiarise herself with the way he had always tied his hair up."Hm, you'll get used to it."
Aki found himself assuring and deciding that enough time had been wasted, walked past her - heading towards the bathroom.Kaiya watched him leave, slightly smiling to herself. It was too soon to tell, but she had a feeling that maybe things wouldn't be too bad around Aki as much as she had assumed.

"Fiend, come on out. The sooner this mission is done with, the better."
Aki states, walking into the living room - already dressed up in his devil hunter's uniform and having his hair tied up again.Kaiya, who was already ready - as she still hadn't received her own devil hunter uniform yet, stood up and couldn't bring herself to understand the way she was feeling.
Aki raised an eyebrow. He was certain that she would've responded excitingly or at least reacted cheerfully to finally being able to leave the house and start her first ever mission.
Yet, before he could ask her what the matter was - she had already turned to face him with a small frown.
"..Hey, does your stomach ever hurt at the thought of meeting new people?"
Kaiya questioned as she murmured quietly.Aki found his gaze softening.
"You're nervous?"
"Is that what this feeling is called? Because I think so."
Kaiya soon averted her eyes and focused on staring at the ground, not understanding why she had wanted to express how she felt so much.
"I'm a fiend. If they have a disgusted reaction towards me or want to kill me..I won't blame them, but I should still try and get along with them, right?"
She continued to murmur and found it strange how it had felt as if something heavy was lifted off her chest.Aki hated that he felt bad, especially as she had only, probably was thinking that way because of her first meeting with him.
"..I can't deny that, but you know it might not be that way. I mean, just look at how you immediately got along with Mr Kishibe. Though it might not be that way either, I'm just letting you know that it'll be different for everyone."
He tells her, looking towards the side - even if they weren't making any eye contact."Some may hate you at first meeting, some may not. Some might not even have a reaction at all."
Kaiya took in his words carefully, confused on why the 'nerves' that he had described to her earlier hadn't felt as strong anymore.
"..I think I get what you're trying to tell me."
She smiled, looking up at him.Aki glanced at her, fighting the urge to smile back and had simply nodded in response instead.
"Good."

Kinda short, cause I don't know. If things go the way I plan, the next few might be a bit long 😔 Apologising for that right now.
And I would like to shamelessly say that he is so bbg, and I love him.
