Short af-

"Phew! I finished my math homework early!". It was Friday and I was about to plop into my cozy bed to finish a sudoku puzzle when I heard a sound. RING RING!! I groaned, feeling like screaming in frustration. Creeping slowly down the stairs, I picked up the receiver and said, "Hello".

"Oh thank goodness you answered Nancy. It's me, Andrea",she said. I groaned again. Andrea is the most annoying girl in the school. I don't think I met anyone as annoying as her. "What do you want?" I asked. "Can you come to my house? I need some help with my homework and you are the only person my mom trusts." she said. "Fine" I said with all the positivity I could muster. I put the receiver back in its cradle before going to make supper.

The next day, I stood in front of the thicketed forest that separates our houses. As I was stepping over a huge rock, I saw a shadow. It wasn't my shadow because it was big and it looked like it had fur on it. Sweat trickled down my spine and my eyes almost bulged out of its sockets. Suddenly, I heard a growling sound. I turned around and in front of me was a hungry grizzly bear.

I was so shocked to see a grizzly bear right in front of me that I fell. Standing up immediately, I saw the bear's gleaming white teeth. Its claws ready to rip me apart. Then with all the energy I could gather, I set off at full speed.

When I reached Andrea's house, I pounded on the door begging for someone to answer. The door opened and there stood Andrea trying to look cute and perky. I dashed inside and saw a nightmare. Toys and trucks everywhere and crumbs leading towards the living room. There were also muddy footprints in the kitchen that came from the backyard. I stood there glad that she did not call me to help her clean the house. Andrea touched me lightly on the shoulder and said " Let's go to my room.". I reluctantly agreed and climbed the stairs.

After I helped Andrea with her homework, she said "Nancy what happened? Why were you pounding on the door?". I tried to explain the situation and the same reaction fell upon Andrea's face. Then she said " Maybe my mom can drive you back home so that way the bear won't attack you again." I felt relief from head to toe as I hopped into the car.

When I got back home, I was about to finish reading the chapter I was reading. Then the phone rang. This time I decided to keep quiet. Soon, the phone stopped ringing and I had peace and quiet. A few moments later, the doorbell rang. I got out of my bed, thundered down the stairs and flung open the door. It was Andrea outside looking nervous. " What do you want?" I asked.

" Um.. Nancy. I ..uh need help cleaning the house." she said. And this time I actually scream in frustration.
