First person POV

" Alright mom, I'm going to the circus with Marissa.", I said with delight. "Have fun Sonya." Mom said. Shutting the door, I scanned the road looking for Marissa's black SUV. To my joy, I saw her car driving down the road and ran to the driveway. "Hi!", I blurted with happiness.

" Hi Sonya.", Marissa said calmly. She is constantly chill and calm while I am bubbly and enthusiastic like a horse and sloth. Jumping into the car, I noticed that the volume level was at 8 and was deafening. " Can you please lower the volume?", I said. Even though Marissa is calm, she loves loud music such as pop. She turned it down to 4 and we headed off to the circus.

At the circus, I could see colorful banners that were hung up beside a huge tent. Smelling scrumptious food, my stomach growled viciously for corn dogs. We dashed to a food stand, got some corn dogs and hurried to the ticket booth while munching on our food.

Inside, I could see crowds of people pushing each other so they could grab a seat. We rapidly got a seat and started to observe the thundering area. There were children all over the place and they were screaming and yelling for the show to begin. Parents were trying to calm them down so that they could find a seat in the middle of the chaos. At last, the circus began.

In the circus, I caught a glimpse of the most amazing show in the history of the circus. From jugglers to the tightrope walkers and to the acrobats, it surely was outstanding. There were even elephants that were balancing on a large beach ball. I'm surprised that they did not deflate the balls. Finally, came the lions. But, something exciting happened during the lion show.

It all started when one of the lions started roaring like a chicken with its head cut off. Kids started screaming like crazy and some even were crying. Suddenly, someone let out a blood-curdling scream and everyone around me started yelling to everyone, "RUN TO THE MAIN EXIT!! RUN!! RUN!!!!!!!!". But I ran towards the stage of the circus and gulped. Marissa yelled at me to come back up but I was too distracted. There in front of me was an untamed lion that looked hungry.

Even though there was a lion right in front of me that did not have a tamer right now, I cooed ," It's okay. I'm not going to hurt you. Let's go find your tamer.". The lion seemed to understand that I was a friend, not an enemy. Patting the lion on the head, we went backstage to look for the tamer. Hiding in the corner, we saw a man around his fifties looking upset.

"Hello. My name is Sonya and why are you here? Shouldn't you be on the stage?" I asked.

"My name is Louis and I just got fired. This was my dream job. I could not stand saying goodbye to my dear lions.", he sobbed. Becoming pitiful for Louis, I had a flash of brilliance. Louis could do his last show with the lions and then we could go to the manager to give him another chance. Explaining the plan, Louis stood up, went outside and apologized to everyone watching the circus.

Soon enough, the circus started again and the crowd cheered my name. Marissa leaned over to me and said, " Good job lion tamer Sonya. You are a wonder girl.". I grinned and felt proud of myself. Afterwards, Marissa drove me home.

A day later, Louis and I went to the manager and begged him for another chance. The manager gave in, giving Louis another chance to be a lion tamer. Louis joyfully cried and hugged me, thanking me for saving his dream job. Then I went home thinking about what had happened.

The memory of the crowd hollering my name in the circus. I felt pride and joy fill my mind. If the circus comes to town again, I would definitely go and see Louis with his lions. What a day!
