Zack opens his eyes.
Zack: *Sighs* What a night...
*Walking*
Zack gets out of bed and walks to the bathroom.
FSSSSHHHHHH!!!
Zack cleans his face with cold water. And then he walks back to his room to get dressed for the day.
Zack: "It's quiet... Did everyone leave?"
He thought.
After Zack gets dressed, he walks to his sister's room.
Zack: Hey, I'm leaving!
...
Zack: Hey, I'm leaving!!
CREAK!!!
Zack opens the bedroom door and sees that the room is empty.
Zack: Katie? That's weird...
Zack ignores the fact that his sister is gone and walks downstairs to the kitchen.
Zack: Breakfast... Eh, I'm not that hungry. I'll just take an apple.
Zack grabs an apple and walks out the front door.
*Walking*
Zack looks around at the empty streets.
Zack: Where is everybody? Usually, people are on their way to work, right? And I know there weren't any worldwide days off! Even if there was a worldwide day off, people would still be outside! Also... Why the hell is the sky purple?! The air is thick as well... and to top it all off, it's humid as fuck...
RING!!!
Zack runs to the entrance of the school.
*Shaking*
Zack: Huh? Are the doors locked? There's still cars here... What's going on today?
SLIDE!!!
Zack opens one of the first floor windows and climbs inside.
Zack: Hello?!
...
Zack: That's strange... Maybe today, really, is a day off? If that's true... Then I'm trespassing!
THUD!!!
Zack falls out of the window and lands on his face.
Zack: Ouch...
Zack gets back on his feet and walks away from the school.
Zack: Okay... So there's no school today... And no one is at home... What should I do?
Just then, Zack spots a payphone on the side of the road.
Zack: I guess a prank call or two won't hurt...
Zack walks over to the payphone and enters a bunch of random numbers, then dials.
RING!!!
...
RING!!!
...
"The phone number you have called -"
The line gets cut.
Zack: Not even the phones work? *sighs* Now what...?
Zack thinks for a moment.
Zack: Guess I'll go home...
Zack begins walking home while looking up at the purple sky.
Suddenly...
WHAM!!!
THUD!!!
Zack bumps into another person... It's an office worker with a name tag that reads Akiko...
Zack: I'm so sorry!
Akiko: No, I am! I should have paid attention to where I was... Going?
Start part B
Zack: Ma'am?
Akiko: Oh! Yes?
Zack: Are you okay? You're not hurt, are you?
Akiko: No, I'm fine... I'm just surprised to see someone right now!
...
Zack stares at Akiko with a look of confusion.
Zack: What's wrong with right now?
Akiko: It's the time of bloodshed...
Zack: I don't like the sound of that...
Akiko: You shouldn't... this is the time when the world is in its most dangerous state... You should hide!
Zack: Hide? Where do I---
GRAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!
Akiko: It's too late... Come on!
Akiko grabs Zack by the hand and pulls him down the street.
*Running*
Zack: What was that roaring?!
Akiko: You'll see soon enough!!
RUMBLE!!!
A gigantic creature looks around the corner of the street and glares at Zack and Akiko.
Zack: What is that?!
Akiko: It found us!
Zack: Thanks. I didn't realize.
Akiko: We'll have to take a detour!
Zack: This is so strange!
Akiko: I'm sorry!
*Running*
Akiko leads Zack into an old run down building and barricades the door.
Zack: Just what is that thing?!
Akiko: It's nothing special… It's just a mother… Believe it or not, that thing is a human…
Zack: That's insane! What happened?!
Akiko: She lost something very important to her… And losing that “thing” made her lose her mind…
Zack: That doesn't help me understand at all!
Akiko: I don't think there's any other way to explain it…
GRAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!
