(About 3 weeks later)
I stared at the person reflecting me in the mirror.
"You and me" I pointed at us both.
"We're not the same anymore"
I chuckled to myself.
"No not anymore" I laughed, my laughs were quiet but they sounded terrifying. I smirked. My smirk was devilish.
"Bye bye" I waved to the person in the mirror. I walked out of my room and was outside eventually.
My body stopped once I saw Jennifer. I haven't talked to her in weeks. I've tried my best to avoid her. The funny part is, I don't know why. She was looking at her phone as she got out of her car. I quickly hid behind a bush.
"Hey Jen! Movie sometime?" Nolan was playing football outside.
"Yeah sure, Nolan" Jennifer smiled.
"Alright I'm open for tonight. You?"
"Ummm. Yes, like around 7-ish"
"Great. I'll text you the movie time" He smiled.
He got her number? Anger raged inside of me. Jennifer shut the door behind herself as she walked into her house. I got out of my hiding spot and walked towards the end of the street.
"Bieber" Nolan shouted.
"What happened to you man?" He shouted, once again. I ignored him and continued to walk.

-

It took me awhile to get to my destination. I'm just glad that I'm finally here. I waited patiently by a brick wall. A black truck pulled up. I smiled.
"Hey. Got what I need?"
"Duh" He handed me a bag filled with white powder mixed with tiny rocky-ish powder. I handed him money. He smiled.
"See you soon" He drove off. I worked my ass off for this. I decided to enjoy it at the beach.

-

Finally, I was here. No one else was here, just me.
I quickly pulled out the bag from my pocket. I also pulled out my pipe. I filled the pipe with the stuff in the bag. I pulled out my lighter and lit the pipe while I sucked in from the pipe. My face instantly went into a smile.
"Beautiful" I laughed.
I raised the pipe to my lips for another puff. It's like getting butterflies. But the more you do it, the better it gets.
What are you doing, Justin?
My smile instantly went into a frown.
I quickly took another puff and my face turned into a bright smile again.
Who have you become?
"What the fuck?" I became angry. I do this to be happy not to be depressed. I took another puff. Happy again.
I put the leftover back in the bag and stuffed it in my pocket. I stood up and walked. Just walked wherever. Life's great. Actually, no. It fucking sucks. I laughed to myself.
"Oh how I hate myself"
My hands rubbed my face.
What happened to you?
I clenched my jaw. This is for the better. I'm a little happier now.
All the things your mom did for you, and this is how you repay her?
"What?" I squinted.
What are you doing Justin?
"I don't know"
What are you doing?
"I don't fucking know" I said a little louder.
What are you doing?
"I already fucking said I don't know" I spoke a little louder.
What happened?
"LEAVE ME THE FUCK ALONE!" I shouted.

JENNIFER'S POV

"LEAVE ME THE FUCK ALONE!" someone shouted. The voice sounded familiar.
"Who was that?" I asked Nolan. He shrugged.
"Weird."
He walked down to the shores while I followed. He held the picnic basket. Our movie was at 8:40. Right now it was 6:50 and we were going to have a picnic before.
"So where--"
I saw Justin. Was that him who screamed? Since when did he start cursing? I haven't seen him in the longest. I've tried going to his house in the past but he never answered. I'm mad at him. He hasn't seen me yet but I saw him. He was sitting right at the edge of the waters. I decided to be quiet. I nudged Nolan. He looked back. I raised a finger to my lips, telling him to not say a word. He nodded. I stared at Justin. Nolan went to go set up the picnic. I'm so mad at him. Why would he ignore me for 3 weeks?
I sat on the sand and watched him. What is he doing here anyway? He clawed at his hair.
"I'M SORRY" He cried. What is going on? I was so confused and shocked about the image that laid ahead of me. After a few minutes of hiding his face in his arms. He pulled out a bag. I looked over to Nolan. He raised his shoulders. Justin pulled out a lighter and something I couldn't name. What is he doing? He raised something to his lips along with the lighter. Before you know it, I saw smoke. I was so shocked I couldn't even think properly. Should I go to him? Should I let him know that I've been here? Who is this? I don't think I can look at Justin the same anymore. I don't even want to eat here anymore. I felt sorry for Justin. I got up and told Nolan to pack everything back up. We can eat somewhere else. What am I going to do with Justin?
This ruined my whole day. Once we got back into Nolan's car he asked me what had just happened. I honestly couldn't tell him. I thought I knew Justin. I guess I don't. What was he smoking?

JUSTIN'S POV

I closed my bedroom door behind me. It was like twelve A.M. I had been at the beach all day. I went into my bathroom to look at myself. No emotion came across my face. Just simply a blank stare. I sighed and walked over to my bed. I pulled out my diary.

Dear diary,

A lot has changed. I'm starting to think I'm a whole different person. I think I'm... happier.

Until next time, diary.

I closed the book. I laid my back down on my bed and shut my eyes.

( A week later )

I walked into the food market. My dad demanded that I get some food since we were all out. He made me a list. I looked down at it. I pulled a cart and looked for the items.

Soon, I was done. I pushed my cart into a line and patiently waited.
"My day was great so far how about yours?" The girl that was in the front of the line spoke to the cashier. I stared at her. Something about her caught my eye. Did I know this girl?

My eyes widened once I noticed who it was. Jennifer. Without hesitation, I pulled my cart out of this line and went to the farthest one from her.

Once the lady was done ringing me up I took off as quickly as possible. Everything was packed inside my dads truck so I went to take the cart back. I paused my actions once I saw Jennifer talking on the phone right next to the cart drop-offs.
"Fuck my life"
I was deciding between leaving the cart right here like a douche or just doing it quickly and then running.
I sighed. My hands let go of the cart.

-

My fingers brought the pipe to my lips. I took my last puff.
"I'm out" I whispered. Now I need to work my ass off again to get more.

-

I knocked on the door.
"Hey sir. Any lawn services you need?" I smiled. It was a fake one of course.
"No thank you" He slammed the door. I sighed. I have been out all day looking for a quick job. I walked home to relax.
I need it now. I was getting so desperate to the point where I was thinking about stealing from my dad.
Here's the plan. He's probably at work so I have time. He hides his money in his boots, I saw him once. Will he notice?
Take a risk, Justin. I smirked.
Don't.
What's the worst that could happen?
Would mom want this?
My smirked turned to a frown.
Just take a risk for once.

Just once.
