The Fourth Prince thought carefully and spoke honestly.

"I was indeed angry at the time. Third Brother and that Hong Ge'er spoke with so much provocation and disdain. But I also remembered your words and didn't dare to run too fast.

However, I did speed up a bit. I didn't whip hard, yet somehow, the horse suddenly charged forward."

Hearing this, Ye Yun felt a sense of calm settle in her heart.

Someone must have tampered with it.

Noticing Ye Yun's serious expression, the Fourth Prince recalled something, and his eyes darkened slightly.

"Mother, do you suspect that someone wants to harm me?"

"Hmm..."

Ye Yun nodded, rising to pace gently back and forth.

"But that day, I checked everything that had come into contact with the horse—everything from its feed to its injuries, horseshoes, saddle, and whip. I examined them all carefully and found nothing unusual. It's clear that the person behind this put in a lot of effort to make it very discreet."

"So even though you suspect something, you have no evidence, right?" the Fourth Prince said softly.

Turning to her son, Ye Yun nodded with a face full of guilt.

The Fourth Prince immediately said, "Mother, don't blame yourself. Since they aimed to plot against me, they must have made full preparations before taking action. It's normal not to find any clues at first. But I have good fortune, and with Uncle's protection, they didn't get their way."

Seeing her child so understanding, Ye Yun felt both comforted and pained.

What normal eleven-year-old child would need to think about so many things?

"I think for now, they won't dare to act again. You should rest well and stay alert for anything unusual around you. I'll continue to investigate in secret," Ye Yun said, sitting down and gently ruffling the Fourth Prince's hair.

After the mother and son talked for a while, she only left after watching the Fourth Prince eat a bit.

Despite the incident of the fall, Ye Yun's visit to Zhasake represented all the women around Ning Chen, so there were unavoidable social obligations that she still had to attend to.

Fortunately, considering the Fourth Prince's injury, Ming Guifei was surely worried, and the ladies didn't keep her for too long.

After the lunch banquet, Ye Yun communicated with Ning Chen, preparing to leave early.

Just as they stepped out of the tent, they were called to stop by Duolan, who had followed them out.

"Guifei, may I invite you to take a walk and chat?"

Ye Yun turned to glance at her, realizing she had something important to discuss, and nodded.

"I will certainly not let down the Fourth Princess' kindness."

The two exchanged glances and slowly walked to a quieter, less crowded place.

Duolan got straight to the point.

"Do Your Highness still remember that I was injured in a fall from a horse before I married?"

As she spoke, she reached up to touch the faint scar on her face.

Ye Yun nodded, "That was over ten years ago."

"Yes, when I saw that the Fourth Prince's horse was startled, it reminded me of that incident," Duolan said, her deep-set eyes darkening slightly. "What happened back then wasn't an accident, just like yesterday's incident wasn't an accident either."
