Ye Yun's face turned slightly red, her gaze darting uncomfortably as she mumbled softly, "It was just spilled once, and I still got caught. Now I have to drink another bowl."

"Not even once is acceptable. Your stomach has been hurt; you need to take good care of it. Don't you still want to eat spicy fish, shrimp, crab, roasted meat, and hotpot? If you don't take care of your stomach, you won't be able to eat anything," Ning Chen said softly.

He finally picked up the medicine bowl and took a small sip to test the temperature. When he found it was no longer hot, he handed it to her.

"Drink it quickly. Finish it in one go, and then have a candied fruit to make it less bitter."

Ye Yun pouted reluctantly but still took the medicine bowl and drank it all in one gulp. However, when Ning Chen immediately offered the candied fruit, she turned her head to avoid it. Instead, she wrapped her arms around Ning Chen's neck and stood on her tiptoes to kiss him.

The bitter taste of the medicine spread between their lips, catching Ning Chen off guard. Once he regained his senses, he tossed the medicine bowl aside and embraced her tightly, deepening the sudden kiss.

Faced with the man taking control, Ye Yun had no strength to resist, and only after her lips were swollen and red from his kisses was she finally released.

Yet, she playfully tilted her beautiful eyes, her voice low and husky, "Your Majesty is much sweeter than candied fruit. Next time I drink medicine, with Your Majesty here, why would I need candied fruit?"

Ning Chen's phoenix eyes narrowed slightly, feeling like he was holding a little temptress in his arms, and his heart burned with desire.

He had to admit, Ye Yun was truly to his liking.

But knowing that Prince Ping was still waiting for him in the imperial study to discuss state matters, he could only suppress this fire.

He took her jade-like hand and gently bit it, saying, "I'll take care of you tonight when I return."

After saying that, he tidied his clothes and left.

Ye Yun couldn't help but smile softly. She bent down to pick up the medicine bowl that had been tossed on the carpet and returned it to the tray on the table before calling someone in to take it away.

Meanwhile, in the imperial study, Prince Ping had already waited for a quarter of an hour but he still couldn't get over the fact that the emperor had taken time off to go back and accompany the Empress to drink medicine.

So when Ning Chen returned, he found him in a daze.

Fortunately, there were no other distractions afterward, and they finalized all matters before noon.

For lunch, Ning Chen invited Prince Ping to eat together.

This was a bit selfish of him, as he really wanted to eat meat. Ye Yun's stomach was hurt by poison, so she couldn't eat heavy, oily, or salty food. Ning Chen couldn't bear to keep eating lightly with her and secretly craved something richer.

However, he didn't dare eat in front of Ye Yun, so he could only sneakily eat.

He had to rinse his mouth and change his clothes afterward; if she found out, the delicate lady would be upset.

The Emperor felt quite stifled.

Of course, to outsiders, it just looked like the Emperor spoiled the Empress excessively.

Now the servants in Jiuchen Palace saw this every day, and the Emperor was perhaps even afraid of his wife.

But such words couldn't be spoken aloud; it was enough that everyone understood it in their hearts.
