San
And just like that, the next day he was nervously standing infront of the class together with Wooyoung. Discussing their presentation that they've worked their blood, sweat and tears on.
The professor listening was amused, writing down on her notepad from time to time. One slide after another, explanation after explanation, everything seemed running smoothly. Just how they envisioned it.
"And that's pretty much everything." Wooyoung finalized as they both bowed, hinting that they were done presenting.
The professor clapped, "Very impressive, good job you two. Definitely earning a high score from me, the effort and presentation is what I was looking for."
San smiled in relief at the compliment, "Thank you."
"Well done class, I'll see you next week for your final semester's exam." the bell dismissed them right after as everyone packed their belongings.
"Good job, partner." San complimented to Wooyoung with a bright smile, mood completely uplifted at their work.
Wooyoung playfully scoffed, "Can't believe I'm about to say this, but we did an amazing job."
"Thanks to me." San teasingly says.
"Yeah sure." Wooyoung played along with the same mocking tone.
San packed his laptop from the professor's desk, "I'm just kidding, thanks to us, ofcourse."
"You're good." he simply replies, making his way to leave the room with everyone else. San immediately followed behind, stopping his tracks to everyone else gathered around the event boards.
Wooyoung stood in the middle of the crowd aswell, looking at the new posters hung up. San walked to stand right beside him. The longer they stared to analyze the posters, the more people left right after.
It was about the sports and music festival happening, starting next week- next week?! San had to squint his eyes in shock, approaching the board after reading the date.
"Next week?!" San blurted out, caught off guard.
"Took them long enough." Wooyoung beside him playfully huffed, smirking to himself. After what felt like years, the most waited event was finally near. Maybe a little too near.
"That's so soon! I'm not even trained well for any games!" San complained, it hadn't been long since he started practising for basketball.
Yes he was a great player but thinking about the games being held by next week after the final exams seemed a little pressuring. Being an active player and top student at the same time felt exhausting, it's like getting no break at all.
This frustrated San.
"Great, got more songs to practice on for the festival. I'm out." Wooyoung scoffed to himself, making his way to leave before San could even collect his thoughts.
"San! Have you seen the placards?" Yunho suddenly came to interrupt his train of thoughts, swinging an arm around San's shoulder. He also happened to stare at where he was looking at. "Ah, I see you already saw it."
"Are they crazy? Why are they announcing this so late? The tournament is literally after the exams! Yunho, I'm feeling pressured!" San helplessly admitted, looking at Yunho with lost eyes.
Yunho patted his shoulder, "You'll be fine, you just need to eat."
With that, Yunho dragged him to the canteen to grab their lunch for today. But the announcement made him lose his appetite.
After they grabbed lunch, he was walking down the path with Yunho to the outdoor table where the band sits at.
A small smile cracked on his lips when he spots Wooyoung laughing loudly with Yeosang. Weird, Yeosang usually never sat by the band's table. But who was he to care? Yeosang is very friendly, more like very bashful.
But just as they were only a few meters away from the table, from the corner of San's eye, he sees Jhinena with the women's volleyball team passing by.
The memory of Jisung mentiong that he was their representative escort popped in his mind that he shouted after them.
"Jhinena!" San called out her name in the crowd, making everyone look. Including her.
"San where are you going?" Yunho questioned with a raised brow.
"I'm just going to talk to Jhinena real quick, I'll be back." San rushed out, already walking away mid sentence.
Jhinena seemed confused, "San? Everything good?" she asked, glancing at her teammates.
"Not to be rude but what's with me being your team's representative escort? How come I wasn't informed about this?" he went straight to the point.
Jhinena huffed and looked around to the girls beside her, "From who did you hear this from?"
"Is it true or not? I'm not mad or anything, I just need a confirmation." San reassured them.
"We heard that every team should choose a representative escort just like for basketball. One of our player suggested you as ouf first choice but you are already part of the basketball's team so we didn't bother asking you. If you're saying that Jisung asked you that then sorry to say but we have no idea how he managed to find out." Jhinena calmly explained.
San frowned, "Which teammate?"
"I didn't catch her name, sorry. She's new here."
"That's okay, thank you for explaining it to me. Sorry if I looked mad or anything, wasn't my intention." San warmly smiled in guilt.
"You're good, we'll see you around." they all waves goodbye to each other before going seperate ways.
San walked back to the table, taking a seat beside Yunho.
"So?" Yunho drawled.
"Just cleared something out." San simply replied, glancing at Wooyoung who's mood completely changed and wouldn't even look at San for some reason.
Yunho took a loud sip from his juice, "You didn't tell me about you and Jhinena."
San rolled his eyes in annoyance, "I already told you we're not a thing."
"What's wrong with Jhinena?" Yeosang asked, blurting out by accident.
San was taken aback because Yeosang never usually talked to him, "There's nothing wrong with Jhinena, I just don't like her in that way."
"Shut up, Yeosang." Wooyoung nudged his best friend's side, glaring at him who winced in silence.
"He's just bashful, that's all-" Yunho teased him more but he wasn't having it.
"-I am not!"
