It’s not like they are a real couple or anything but Lisa spends the night with her, talking as they look up at the skies and naming whatever stars they can find. Who cares if they get it wrong? All Chaeyoung knows is that they are having fun and only that matters.

Lisa’s nieces - as Chaeyoung learns, actually hails from the Korean Royal Family. No wonder, the doctor thinks to herself when Lisa isn’t looking, that both of them act differently.

Rich kids, Chaeyoung mumbles internally. Of course they have to come with an extra attitude. “I’m sorry if my family isn’t what you imagined they were,” Lisa holds her hand before lacing them up together.

Both of them are still on the roof and each on their back. Eyes clinging to dark, stretched skies. “They aren’t used to me bringing friends home,” She adds and Chaeyoung chokes on her own laughter. The lawyer tilts her head to gaze at her neighbour next door.

But all she can see is Chaeyoung’s side profile, scrunching adorable as the blonde continues to giggle. “What’s so funny about that?”

“I guess it’s very apparent that they aren’t used to you bringing friends home, especially girls,” Chaeyoung turns to her left side of body, which allows her to face Lisa in the same position.

Their eyes run along each other's body before they are back on eye level again. “Do you think that’s why they hate me?”

“I don’t think they hate you,” Lisa whispers. The night breeze starts to blow their way and the lawyer shivers a little underneath her skin.

“I guess they are just anxious that the Cho are coming to Lili’s party and they don’t want them to get the wrong idea of us,”

“Who’s the Cho?” Chaeyoung asks. Her finger softly tucks a loose strand from Lisa’s hair back behind her ear and ignores the way Lisa’s shiver underneath her touch.

It must be the cold, the blonde tells herself. Stop imagining things, she breathes out.

If there’s anyone who couldn’t breathe any longer, it’s Lisa. Never in a million years did she imagine she would be laying next to Chaeyoung casually like this.

Inches apart on the roof with their breath tickling one another and thousands of stars lighting up the night sky.

And Chaeyoung’s breath? It is an even mixture of strawberry and fresh air and Lisa can’t help but wonder if she tastes the same.

No, Lisa - she tells her mind to stop immediately or it’d be hard to sleep later. It’s already hard to sleep at night in Seoul, knowing Chaeyoung is just next door. But Chaeyoung in the next room? That undoubtedly would be harder.

“Well,” Lisa composes herself as she settles on her back rather than her side. Her eyes are back running between the stars.

“The Cho is a family friend,” Her hand scans through her dark hair. It’s annoying that the aftermath of shampooing one’s hair is the silky texture one will have.
