It’s raining when the blue Range Rover pulls over at a homey, double story home in downtown Seoul where average to mid - level society live side by side. Lisa lets out a sight.
Hands still around the wheel as she casts a look at the house with terracotta roof. She was due to meet Roseanne yesterday to discuss their wedding. But work has greatly swamped her.
The new, high profile case she’s handling apparently consumes more of her time than she originally thought.
Today’s no exception. In fact, she has just wrapped a back to back meeting and is tired as hell. But Lisa tells herself to fuck everything else and jumps straight to meet Roseanne.
For some reason, she misses her dearly.
The rain drenches her as she exits her car and runs towards Chaeyoung’s family home. Hand knocking a few times until a series of footsteps are heard and the silver knob twists to the left.
The door opens ajar. “Lisa?” Comes Chaeyoung’s voice. Then, the door is pushed wider, enough for Lisa to pass through.
“Oh god, you’re soaking wet,” Her fiancee exclaims before one hand stopping at Lisa’s chest. It’s an indicator not to move forward another step. “Wait right here,” Chaeyoung states firmly.
“I’ll get you a towel real quick,” She scans Lisa’s face briefly and leaves before the lawyer gets to say anything.
A moment later, the blonde comes back with a towel in hand, a stool and a furious look engraved on her face.
“Sit down,” She commands and Lisa follows, having kicked her Oxfords away at the entrance.
“What did you think?” The lecture comes. It’s still in the early stage so her tone doesn’t quite hit the roof just yet, Lisa thinks.
“Our wedding is only 3 days away and you decide to walk in the rain? What if you get sick?”
“Lisa, my man” Mr. Park appears out of nowhere although judging by the apron he wears and the gloves stuck to his hands, Lisa is sure as heck he came from the kitchen.
The man sounds delighted as hell, the expression he wears matches his voice. “I’m glad to see you. There’s a game playing tonight on TV. Do you think you can stay the night and watch it together?”
“That sounds like a solid plan,” Lisa mumbles. She doesn’t know where this easygoing part of her comes from but she’s secretly loving it. “Great,” The man shows a thumbs up reaction.
“Also, I’m making us both lasagna so if you can give me hands in the kitchen, that'd be great,”
“Sure,” Lisa says again. “I’ll be in the kitchen in a minute,” She adds and Mr. Park disappears into the kitchen with a knowing smile.
“What was that?” Roseanne grunts as she stops towelling Lisa’s hair. “I thought you were here to see me,” She sounds disappointed and Lisa’s not going to sugarcoat it. But she also sounds funny. Could she be jealous?
“Well, I was” Lisa speaks, as a matter of fact. “I wanted to ask if everything has been arranged or there’s still something I can help you with,”
Roseanne blushes for a moment. “Well,” She steals a glance at Lisa sheepishly.
“For starters, the backyard is already done. Dad called someone to mow it nicely and we’re going to have some workers set it up for the event on Friday,”
“Okay,” Lisa nods her head. “That’s great. How about catering?”
“Also booked. Mom and I went for the testing yesterday and we picked a few things that I’m sure you’ll like too,”
