As You and Simon Finished Showering...
Once you both finished showering, you got dressed and made your way to the main hall, where all the corridors of the castle converged. The grand architecture felt even more mysterious as Simon led the way, but his next words made you blink in disbelief.
"I kinda forgot how this place looks, so... we might get lost," Simon said with a sheepish grin.
You raised an eyebrow and shot him a sarcastic glance. "Great. That helps a lot."
It was hard to believe that Simon, the one who lived in this castle, didn't have the layout memorized. Still, you were excited to explore what was essentially his domain.
The hallways were labeled with signs that piqued your curiosity-Dungeon, Tower1, Tower2, and Treasure Room. One of them immediately caught your eye, and you couldn't help but gravitate toward it.
"How about this one?" you asked, pointing to the sign that read Treasure Room.
Simon's smile widened with pride. "Well, well... seems we have a little thief on our hands," he teased, his voice low and playful.
You blushed and tried to ignore him, but it was hard when he followed up with a light kiss on your cheek. His teasing always made your heart race.
Together, you headed down the hallway. The dim light from fake torches flickered against the stone walls, giving the space an eerie, medieval vibe. Portraits of Simon's friends and fantastical landscapes lined the walls, and the faint sounds of distant memories echoed through the corridors.
Along the way, you passed doors that led to old playrooms. You knew from what Simon had told you that children used to come here to play. It felt strange, wandering through a place that had once been full of life, now silent and abandoned.
At the end of the hallway stood a massive golden door, encrusted with rubies and diamonds that sparkled even in the dim light. This must be the entrance to the treasure room. You could hardly contain your excitement.
Simon pushed the door open, and the sight that greeted you took your breath away.
---
The Treasure Room
The room was vast-far bigger than you'd expected. It stretched on for what seemed like forever, filled with mountains of broken toys, discarded play structures, and, of course, heaps of gold, diamonds, rubies, and emeralds. The sheer amount of treasure was mind-boggling.
You knew dragons loved hoarding treasure, but Simon's collection included more than just gold. The sight of so many broken toys and forgotten relics was oddly melancholic, reminding you that this place had a history-a forgotten one.
The room itself must have been at least 50 meters wide and 70 meters long, with a ceiling that soared 90 meters above you. Pillars held the massive roof in place, and staircases led from the floor to raised platforms covered in treasure. LED lights embedded in the floor gave off an ethereal glow, like something out of a fantasy novel.
It was like stepping into a dream.
Simon's voice pulled you out of your awe. "I've got a secret spot somewhere in here... wanna go find it?"
You grinned at the idea. "Yeah, why not?"
The two of you descended the stairs, leaving the golden door behind as it creaked shut. The room felt alive in a way-real torches flickered on the pillars, casting long shadows across the ground, and the faint hum of the LED lights gave the space an otherworldly feel.
As you walked, you couldn't shake the feeling that something was watching you, though you tried to brush it off as your imagination. There was something about this place-its history, its silence-that made it feel almost haunted.
Eventually, you and Simon reached a small alcove hidden behind one of the treasure piles. There, tucked away, was a makeshift living space-a mattress in shades of pink, red, and black, a small table, a Nintendo, and a few other trinkets.
You looked back toward the entrance, barely able to make out the golden door from where you stood. This place felt private, intimate.
"This place is amazing, Simon," you said, looking into his eyes.
He smiled, a softer, more genuine expression than his usual cocky smirk. "I know... a place fit for a king and his... mate," he added, his voice dropping seductively.
It wasn't the first time Simon teased you like this, but somehow, it always managed to catch you off guard. Blushing, you sat down next to him on the mattress.
"So, this is your secret spot?" you asked, settling in.
Simon nodded, leaning back on his hands. "Yeah... it's where I come to unwind, to be alone. But now..." He turned to you, his eyes warm and sincere. "Now I have you. This treasure means nothing compared to that. You're my real treasure, Y/N."
His words hit you with a sudden clarity-this wasn't just flirting. He was being genuine. For all his bravado and teasing, Simon really cared about you. The realization made your heart swell, and for a long moment, you simply looked at each other, caught in a silent exchange of feelings.
After what felt like minutes, Simon broke the silence with a playful smirk. "Wanna play some Nintendo?"
The change in mood was so sudden you almost laughed. "Sure, what games do you have?"
He rummaged through his collection and listed a few: "Minecraft, Fortnite, Ghostbusters, and Five Nights at Freddy's."
You weren't sure what to pick, so you randomly chose Ghostbusters. Simon grinned and handed you a controller, and soon, the two of you were immersed in the game, laughing and enjoying each other's company.
A Few Games Later...
After several rounds of Ghostbusters, you and Simon set the controllers aside and cuddled up on the mattress. His arm wrapped around your waist, pulling you close. The warmth of his body against yours made you feel safe, content.
"Simon," you whispered, "I love you."
For a moment, he was silent, and you wondered if you had said too much too soon. But then he hugged you tighter, his breath warm against your ear as he whispered back, "I love you too."
The two of you lay there, wrapped in each other's arms, the world outside forgotten. You didn't need treasure or castles or grand adventures. Right here, in this quiet moment, you had everything you needed.
Eventually, you both got up and headed back to Simon's room, where you snuggled up in bed, letting the comfort of his embrace lull you into a peaceful sleep.
