They made their way through the dimly lit hallways of the academy, and Lydia felt a sense of urgency building within her. As they approached the library, she fished out her phone to call her parents, but the signal was dead. Frustrated, she turned to Eryx. “I can’t reach them. There’s no signal!”
Eryx frowned, glancing at his own phone. “It seems like the whole academy is cut off. We need to focus on finding information about the cosmos and how to bond our powers.”
They entered the library, the scent of old books enveloping them. They searched through the shelves, looking for any texts that could shed light on the cosmos clan and their legacy, but nothing seemed to provide the answers they were seeking. As the hours ticked by, the realization that they were running out of time weighed heavily on them.
Finally, as the library’s clock chimed late into the night, Lydia felt her eyelids growing heavy. “I can’t keep this up,” she admitted, fighting to stay awake.
“I know,” Eryx replied, his voice low. “We’ll have to continue this tomorrow.”
But the exhaustion took over, and Lydia found herself slumping onto the desk, the world around her fading into darkness.
A soft tap on her shoulder jolted her awake. She blinked, trying to shake off the grogginess, and saw Eryx looking down at her, worry etched on his face. The muffled sounds of chaos filled the air, screams and shouts echoed through the library.
“What’s happening?” she gasped, her heart racing as she struggled to sit up.
“It’s the students,” Eryx replied urgently, glancing toward the door. “Something’s gone wrong. We need to get out of here!”
With her heart pounding and adrenaline surging, Lydia pushed herself up. Whatever was happening in the academy was far more dangerous than they had anticipated, and now they were caught in the midst of it.
