The courtyard was a battlefield of broken stones and fractured light, where shadows of the night clashed with the burning flames of battle. Eryx stood, his breathing labored, the glow of his fire force flickering around him, barely holding on. Across from him, Xander was calm and composed, the icy blue aura surrounding him as if winter itself answered his call.

This wasn’t just a fight for dominance it was a battle of survival between two brothers, each shaped by their own forces. Fire versus ice. Eryx could feel the weight of every strike, both physical and emotional. This wasn’t how it was supposed to be. But here they were, locked in a struggle that could only end in one brother's victory over the other.

Sera watched from the shadows, her crystal armor shielding Lydia and Eryx as best she could, though her strength was waning. Kate circled her like a hawk, trying to find a weak point in the barrier. Every strike Kate landed sent tremors through the shield, but Sera was holding on—for now.

“Are you going to keep running, Eryx?” Xander’s voice cut through the tension, his ice-laden words sharp enough to wound. He slowly circled Eryx, his movements graceful, as though he wasn’t even breaking a sweat. “This was inevitable, you know. The king knew it, and now you do too.”

Eryx’s flames flared, a mixture of anger and desperation driving him forward. “You don’t have to do this, Xander,” he said, his voice hoarse. “This isn’t about the kingdom. This is about you wanting power. You’re obsessed with it!”

Xander’s eyes narrowed. “Power is everything. You would know that if you weren’t so weak.”

He unleashed a flurry of ice-laden attacks, shards of freezing energy cutting through the air. Eryx dodged, the heat of his fire barely enough to keep the cold at bay. Their powers collided, flame against frost, each force trying to overwhelm the other.

But Xander was stronger. His movements were calculated, precise. Every step he took pushed Eryx back, closer to defeat. And yet, even as Xander prepared to land the final blow, his heart hesitated.

For a brief moment, his mind wandered—why couldn’t he finish this? It would be easy. One strike, and Eryx would be gone. Then he would claim Lydia, claim immortality, and secure the kingdom’s fate as his own.

But something held him back. His brother’s eyes—full of defiance, but also of something more. Something familiar. Seras words echoed in his mind. "You chose this path, Xander. But it's not who you really are."

Xander clenched his jaw, the internal conflict rising within him. Could he really kill his brother?

Eryx, weakened but not broken, looked up at Xander. "If you kill me, you lose everything, Xander. You lose yourself." The flames around him sputtered, but his words cut deeper than any fire.

Xander’s grip tightened around the ice sword he had formed in his hand. His gaze flickered—just for a second—toward Lydia, who stood behind Sera’s protective shield, her eyes wide with fear and...something else.

Meanwhile, Kate's battle with Sera raged on. The red-haired warrior launched a powerful blast of energy at Sera’s armor, causing cracks to appear in the crystal surface. "You can’t keep this up forever, Sera," Kate sneered, her eyes burning with the same desire to prove herself to Xander. "I’m going to break you, and then we’ll take them both."

Sera, though exhausted, stood firm. She knew she had to hold out—just a little longer. But her energy was depleting fast, and with Eryx on the verge of collapse, she was running out of time.

In the midst of the chaos, Lydia felt something shift inside her. She had been silent, watching Eryx struggle against his brother, and watching Sera do everything she could to protect them. But now, something else was awakening within her—a connection, as though the stars themselves were calling her to act.Her gaze drifted upward to the night sky, where a shooting star blazed across the heavens. For a moment, everything seemed to slow down, the world around her fading into the background. She could feel the cosmos reaching out to her, like a pulse of energy coursing through her veins.

Then she felt it،the cold. A sudden, piercing chill, unlike anything she had felt before. It wasn’t coming from Xander’s ice force. It was something deeper. Something inside her.

Her heart raced as a rare hexane snowflake drifted down, landing on her palm. The moment it touched her skin, her entire body surged with energy. Power. Uncontrollable, raw power.

Lydia gasped as the aura around her shifted, her presence in the courtyard suddenly undeniable. Xander turned sharply, his eyes locking onto her as her power flared, bright and terrifying.

“What… is this?” he whispered, his voice filled with awe. He had sensed the potential in her before, but nothing like this. This was something new. Something dangerous.

He took a step back, forgetting about Eryx for the first time, all his focus now on Lydia. “Lydia…” he uttered the name in hopefull tone, hope of getting the ultimate powers he's been longing for for years now.

The stars above seemed to pulse in rhythm with her awakening, as if the very cosmos were acknowledging her presence. Lydia’s eyes glowed with a new light, her connection to the universe growing stronger by the second.

Xander’s cold gaze softened, his emotions swirling in a way he had never experienced before. Could this power be the key to everything? He had thought immortality was his ultimate goal, but now, looking at Lydia, he realized there was something even greater at play.

Sera noticed the shift in Xander’s attention and called out, “Lydia, stay back!” But it was too late. Lydia was already stepping forward, drawn by the new power surging within her.
