"Good morning ladies, take a seat please," Mr. Lee calmly said. We sat on the sofa by the coffee table that he directed us to.
"Basing on how the two of you interact by the elevator, I assume you already know each other so no need for introductions, am I right?" he said with a friendly smile. Mr. Lee is actually a very cool boss. He is very approachable and the staffs are pretty comfortable with him and his family. Even his daughters get along with all of us so well.
"Yes sir, we're actually dorm mates," I chimed in with full honesty while eyeing Tzuyu which she also acknowledged with a nod.
"Is that so? Well, that would be perfect then! You could work together more efficiently especially now that both of you will be handling our biggest client. They would keep in touch through emails if ever they wanted a word with you."
"I'm sorry if I may sound like an intruder Sir but do you personally know who Z. Hall is? I'm just curious about them," I questioned. Authors like them are really mysterious.
I wonder if I could at least get their autograph someday.
"I do. Actually, we've been good friends for years now. However, they would like to keep their anonymity. They don't even do book signing which could have promoted their works much better, they just said they're not interested with the money," he shared with a knowing look.
That's probably why their books are pretty much affordable despite being extremely popular and are being sold at the lowest possible price with just a little more than enough profit to cover the publication expenses.
"I hope I would be able to meet them someday. I am actually a big fan of their work," I shared.
"You're in for a treat then, they usually just do all the work by themselves and we publish it directly without other people's interference. But now, they wanted the new release to have some illustrations and that's when you came in the picture."
The CEO gave us Z. Hall's contact details, and some additional instructions and revisions given by themselves before we exited his office.
"Have you started working on the book, Tzuyu-ah?" I started and she nodded slowly.
"How about we eat lunch together so we could start discussing on what to do with the book? My treat," I offered.
"Okay," she shortly replied. It's just fifteen minutes before lunch break so we headed straight to our own offices to grab our things and then meet by the building's lobby. As expected, since Tzuyu isn't the outspoken type, I get to decide where we would eat.
We walked for about less than five minutes before reaching a small restaurant which seems to be cozy enough for small meetings and such. We sat by the glass window on the secluded part of the restaurant before ordering. As we were arranging some of our needed documents, one of the waiters suddenly arrived with our food.
Woah, that was quick...
"So Tzuyu, can you tell me what have you worked on so far?" I opened before having a bite on my burger. We both had a burger, some pork barbecue and rice, and sodas.
"I have proofread and edited the first half of the book. Only minimal changes were made and were already approved by them during our meeting. The ending is still undecided though," she said hurriedly in a tone I could barely hear while dropping her utensils and rummaging through her files, not even taking a glance at me. That was probably the longest speech she'd made ever since we met which made me shocked.
My jaw literally dropped when I've fully absorbed what she said.
"EH?!!! YOU'VE HAD A MEETING WITH THEM?! WHY- WHE- HOW?!"
