The wedding day for Minji and Hanni was nothing short of magical. The sun shone brightly over the beautiful garden where the ceremony took place. White flowers adorned every corner, and guests from both the Kim and Pham families gathered, celebrating the love that had blossomed between the two. Minji stood at the altar, handsome in his tailored suit, his heart racing as he watched Hanni walk down the aisle in her stunning wedding gown. She looked ethereal, glowing with happiness, and when their eyes met, they both smiled, knowing this moment was the culmination of their years of unspoken love.

Their vows were heartfelt, filled with promises of a lifetime of support, protection, and love. Minji gently squeezed Hanni’s hand, whispering, "I’ll love you forever, no matter what happens." The ceremony ended with cheers and laughter, and as they kissed as husband and wife, they felt like nothing in the world could ever tear them apart.

The reception that followed was a lively celebration. Dani and Haerin, now a married couple themselves, danced alongside Minji and Hanni, surrounded by their family and friends. Laughter echoed through the night, and everyone shared in the joy of two beautiful couples finding their happily ever after.

The next day, Minji and Hanni were on their way to their honeymoon destination. They drove through the winding mountain roads, excited for the peaceful retreat they had planned. Hanni rested her head on Minji’s shoulder, her fingers intertwined with his as they talked about the future they were building together. Everything seemed perfect.

But in a split second, their world turned upside down.

A speeding truck veered into their lane. Minji’s instincts kicked in immediately. Without a second thought, he swerved to avoid the truck, but the car spun out of control. In the chaos, Minji threw himself over Hanni, shielding her from the brunt of the impact as the car crashed into a nearby embankment.

The sound of metal crunching and glass shattering filled the air. For a moment, everything was silent. Hanni, dazed but conscious, opened her eyes, feeling a sharp pain in her side but realizing she was alive. She looked down and saw Minji lying across her, unconscious, blood dripping from a cut on his forehead. Panic set in as she screamed his name, trying to wake him up.

"Minji! Minji, please!" Hanni cried, her hands shaking as she tried to check for his pulse. Relief washed over her when she felt a faint heartbeat, but he wasn’t responding.

The paramedics arrived quickly and rushed them to the hospital. Hanni was treated for minor injuries, but Minji’s condition was far worse. The doctors explained that the combination of the previous head trauma from his basketball accident and the new injury had caused significant damage to his brain. The impact was severe, and when Minji finally woke up, the news shattered Hanni’s world.

Minji opened his eyes, confused and disoriented. He looked around the room, his face scrunched in confusion. When his gaze landed on Hanni, who was sitting by his side, her face filled with worry, he didn’t recognize her. His voice was small and childlike as he whispered, “Who are you?”

Hanni’s heart sank. She tried to stay calm, though tears welled up in her eyes. "Minji… It’s me, Hanni. Your wife."

But Minji only looked more confused. “Wife?” he asked, shaking his head. “I don’t have a wife. I’m only five.”

The doctors confirmed her worst fear—Minji had lost years of his memories. His mind had regressed to the time when he was just a child. He had no memory of his accomplishments, his love for Hanni, or even the wedding they had just celebrated. The emotional toll on Hanni was unbearable. The man she loved, the one who had risked his life for her, no longer knew who she was. All the memories they had built together were gone, and she felt as though she had lost him, even though he was still there physically.

Days turned into weeks, and Hanni stayed by Minji’s side, determined to help him recover. But it was heartbreaking. He would often ask for his parents, play with toys, and talk as if he were a young boy, unaware of the love and life he had shared with Hanni. The doctors were unsure if his memories would ever return, and Hanni had to face the painful reality that their future together might look very different from the one they had planned.

Despite the heartache, Hanni refused to give up on him. She would visit him every day, telling him stories of their past, hoping something would spark his memory. She showed him photos of their time together, gently reminding him of the love they had shared. Minji would listen, sometimes laughing like a child, other times confused by the images of a life he didn’t remember.

Haerin and Dani were also devastated by Minji’s condition. Haerin couldn’t stop crying whenever she saw her younger brother so lost, and Dani did his best to support both his wife and Hanni during this difficult time. They rallied around Minji, refusing to let him face this alone.

As the days passed, Hanni held on to a fragile hope that one day, Minji would remember. But for now, she had to find strength in their past, even if Minji had forgotten.

Their journey was far from over, and though the road ahead was uncertain, Hanni knew one thing for sure: she would never stop loving Minji, no matter who he remembered himself to be.
