As the weeks passed, Minji and Hanni settled into their new life together. The mansion felt warmer now, filled with the laughter and love they shared. Yet, despite the playful moments, there was always an underlying sense of something deeper between them—a bond that had only grown stronger through the challenges they had faced.

One evening, after a long day, they found themselves lounging in their shared bedroom. Minji was sprawled out on the bed, flipping through a magazine, while Hanni sat beside him, absently playing with his hair. The quiet was comfortable, and they both relished these moments of peace.

“Hey, Hanni?” Minji’s voice broke the silence, his tone unusually serious.

Hanni glanced down at him. “Yeah?”

Minji shifted, propping himself up on his elbow to look at her. His eyes were soft, full of the affection he rarely spoke aloud but always showed in his actions. “Do you ever think about the future?”

Hanni blinked, surprised by the question. “The future? Like, how far ahead are we talking?”

Minji shrugged, his gaze never leaving hers. “I don’t know. Just… us. Forever.”

Hanni felt her heart skip a beat. Forever. It was a big word, and yet, when she thought about it with Minji, it didn’t feel so daunting. It felt like a promise she was ready to make.

“You mean… like, kids? A family?” Hanni asked, her voice soft.

Minji smiled, his expression growing more tender. “Maybe. I just know I want to spend forever with you. Whatever that looks like.”

Hanni felt a rush of emotion at his words. For all their teasing and playful banter, moments like this reminded her of how deeply Minji cared for her. He didn’t need to say much for her to feel the weight of his love. It was in the way he looked at her, the way he held her, the way he always put her first.

“I want that too,” Hanni whispered, her hand sliding into his. “I want forever with you.”

Minji’s smile widened, and he pulled her closer, pressing a soft kiss to her forehead. “Good. Because I’m not letting you go.”

They stayed like that for a while, wrapped up in each other, the world outside fading away. But eventually, Hanni pulled back, her eyes sparkling with mischief. “So, Mr. Kim, does this ‘forever’ plan involve more pranks and water balloon fights?”

Minji laughed, the sound light and carefree. “Only if you’re up for the challenge, Mrs. Kim.”

Hanni rolled her eyes, but she couldn’t help the smile that tugged at her lips. “Oh, you’re on.”

The next morning, Minji woke up before Hanni, something that rarely happened. He watched her sleep for a few moments, her face peaceful and relaxed, and felt a surge of love for her. This woman—his best friend, his partner, his everything—was the reason he felt like the luckiest person in the world.

Deciding to surprise her, Minji quietly slipped out of bed and headed to the kitchen. He wasn’t much of a cook, but he was determined to make breakfast for them. After a few comical mishaps—spilled flour, burnt toast, and an overly enthusiastic attempt at flipping pancakes—he finally managed to prepare something halfway decent.

Carrying the tray back to the bedroom, Minji placed it on the nightstand and gently nudged Hanni awake. “Morning, sleepyhead.”

Hanni groaned, rolling over to face him. “Minji? What time is it?”

“Time for breakfast in bed,” he announced proudly, gesturing to the tray.

Hanni blinked, sitting up and eyeing the slightly burnt pancakes and lopsided toast. She raised an eyebrow. “Did you… make this?”

Minji scratched the back of his neck, looking sheepish. “Uh, yeah. It’s not perfect, but I tried.”

Hanni couldn’t help but smile at the effort. It was messy and imperfect, but it was so Minji. “It’s perfect,” she said, leaning over to kiss his cheek.

They ate breakfast together, laughing and talking about everything and nothing. It was in moments like these that Hanni realized how deeply she cherished their life together. It wasn’t about grand gestures or big plans—it was the little things, like breakfast in bed, stolen kisses, and whispered promises.

As they finished eating, Minji leaned back against the headboard, pulling Hanni into his arms. “You know, I never thought I could be this happy.”

Hanni looked up at him, her heart full. “Me neither.”

Minji pressed a kiss to the top of her head, his voice soft. “I love you, Hanni. More than anything.”

“I love you too,” Hanni whispered, resting her head against his chest.

And in that moment, everything felt right.
