The days pass and you fall deeper and deeper into despair, locked away and alone. You are crying when Elrond visits you as usual.

Elrond's heart aches as he watches you cry. Every instinct pulls him towards you, yearning to offer you comfort and reassurance. But the war within him is still raging, the logical side of him warns of the danger you pose, the emotional side of him yearns to reach out.

He stays by the entrance, his voice soft though strained. "Y/N... please, tell me what's wrong. Why are you crying?"

"I want to go out, I want everything to go back to how it was before."

"I wish I could grant that wish" he says softly. "I wish I could take us back to how things once were. But it's not that simple... You know why we can't let you out."

Once again you get up and fight against these damn chains that keep you away from him. You reach for him and his forelock shifts slightly.

His breath hits slightly as your fingertips graze his cheek, the contact unexpected but strangely soothing. Elrond gasps slightly at your touch, feels your grip tighten and lets himself be carried, approaching you. Your foreheads touch in that profound gesture that unites two souls. Something in the air shifts, almost as if an invisible wall between you two is starting to dissolve.

Elrond closes his eyes as he inhales, his fingers wrap around yours. For a moment, it is as if all tensions and discord between you vanish. He savors the softness of your skin against him, the bond that once existed.

He doesn't pull back, doesn't resist the connection forming between you. He allows himself to feel, to remember, lowering his guard for once.

Elrond looks into your eyes, his gaze unwavering, intense. The proximity between you is palpable, the atmosphere charged with a mix of emotions. He hesitates for a moment, his breath mingling with yours, and then, slowly, his lips part, an invitation hanging in the air.

His heart beats fast in his chest, his thoughts a whirlwind of confusion, hope, and fear. Yet, the pull towards you is too strong to resist. He leans in, his face moving closer, his lips almost touching yours.

You hold your breath as you see him approaching, opening your lips slightly inviting him.

This vortex that was dragging him into this pleasant moment, is interrupted. The cold present envelops this warm and pleasant sensation.

Galadriel's hand on his shoulder pulls him out of the moment, shattering the fragile connection that was about to form between you.

Elrond looks up, his eyes wide, his expression confused. He looks from you to Galadriel, his heart still racing from the almost kiss.

Her face is stern, her eyes blazing with anger. "What are you thinking, Elrond?" she berates, her words a sharp rebuke. "Have you forgotten the danger that this person poses? How could you allow yourself to be so close, so vulnerable to her influence?"

The way she talks about you makes you boil with anger. As if she doesn't know you, as if you don't matter, as if you're a stranger. How unimportant have you become after only a short time? How difficult it is to earn someone's respect and how easy it is to lose it.

Elrond's expression hardens in response to Galadriel's scolding. He gently pushes her hand off his shoulder. "I am not a child, Galadriel" he retorts, his words laced with irritation. "I know the dangers, but this is..." He trails off, his gaze flickering back to you before he continues, "...this is complicated. More complicated than you realize."

She shakes her head, her mouth set in a tight line. "Complicated or not, this is foolishness. You're allowing yourself to be swayed by emotions, by memories of who this person once was. But she is not that person anymore, can't you see that?"
