Christian's POV
I gently wipe my nose so as not to hurt it more, I walk back into my class throwing away the tissue and returning to my seat next to Austin. "Ok so now that you've blown your nose for the millionth time...tell me more about your first date with Eric!" He says excitedly but low so no one else would hear. "It wasn't a date!" I half yell making a few people look back at me, "We just had a mini picnic in the forest with food he made while stargazing and getting to know each other better...see not a date" I shrug. He looks at me and rolls his eyes "Christian you just decide a very cute, very adorable D.A.T.E!" He spells out each letter. I huff looking back at my history teacher as she goes on about war and famine, my mind starts to wander off thinking back to my date- no my birthday outing. "Look at that smile on your face! You're thinking about your date and Eric aren't you!~" he teases disrupting my thoughts.
"IT WASN'T A DATE!!" I finally yell at him standing up, feeling my face heat up. Nothing made this moment more pleasant than the sound of the bell ringing signaling the end of class, though that didn't stop some students and Ms. Goober from starting at me. Austin giggles covering his mouth with his hand as I slowly turn looking around the class and seeing other kids watching me and Austin. "Mind your business the bell rang!" Austin says standing up next to me.
The class slowly emptied leaving just Ms. Goober standing by the door, I packed my stuff along with Austin and made my way to the door "Sorry about the yelling" I saw in a hurry immediately rushing out of the class to get to my locker. "Well, now your date news is gonna spread through the school. Everyone's gonna want to know who Christian Levine the 'player' took out" he laughs knowing the truth behind that rumor.
I'm nothing near a player, I've dated two to three girls at most my whole high school life. I just made the bad decision of dating two best friends one after the other. The two girls fought and I ended up breaking up with the one I was dating to save my image, they then became friends again. The two of them started spreading rumors which everyone ate up, so now the whole student body thinks I'm some player who dates girls to have sex then drops them for my image... I'm a virgin for fucks sake. Not like I'm gonna tell everyone that though.
"I hope you know you're gonna rot in hell," I say glaring at him, "Aww come on! I'm not the one who can't accept reality for what it is" he shrugs. "Like how you can't accept your feelings for Dexter?" I tease him watching the tall buff transfer kid approach Austin from behind. Austin's face goes red "I do not have feelings for-" he gets cut off. "Feelings for who?" A gruff voice says from behind him. Austin leans his head back looking up at Dexter "W- Why are you here?! And how are you so quiet for such a big guy?!" Austin asks with a bit of a yell his blush only spreading across his face more.
"I don't know, but who were you two talking about?" Dexter shrugs looking at me, I smile back glancing at Austin with a glare then looks back at Dexter. "He was talking about y-" I don't get to finish my words before Austin slaps his hands over my mouth. "Shut up idiot!!" I push his hand away turning to sneeze. "Don't you have a class to get to?!" Austin continues, I smile at him and hug him "I'll leave you with your boyfriend" I say before walking off leaving the two to talk. The rest of the day went by fast, my mind constantly going back to picnic under the stars and the big oak tree.
Before I knew it, my driver was picking me up from school. I don't remember the thirty-minute ride, but I do remember waking up in my bed in my night clothes. I was covered with a thick blanket, and something cold and wet was on my forehead. I felt groggy and my body, heavy. I slowly sat up, and looked around, seeing that my room was empty. "Arleen!" I called, my voice sounding hoarse, making my throat itch.
I hate being sick, it's the worst! "Yes sir! You called?" The sweet older woman called from the door, "How long have I been asleep?" She walks in coming closer taking the rag off my forehead dipping it in a bowl of cold water and ice. "You've been sleeping for a few hours, sir. Are you feeling any better?" I watch her take the rag from the bowl squeezing the water out, "Ye- Yeah I feel a bit better." I stop to clear my throat.
