8 | suffocate

"Haneul, where are you?"
The boy nearly yelled when he ran along the school's hallways.

People were staring at him as if he was an alien or as if he was crazy. But the only thing Jay wanted to have is her.

Finding her and helping her.

"Excuse me? Have you seen a girl with brown shoulder length hair? She has a mole under her left eye. She was probably running?"
Jay asked two randomg students.

He was so out of breath and tried to catch is every new second.

The two students only shrugged and shook their hands, saying they didn't know where the hell Haneul was.

Only when he continued running through the school, Jay realized how he mentioned the girl's mole. He was surprised but also shocked about him being aware of that detail. He must've noticed it unconsciously.

Jay searched in every single corner but the girl was nowhere to be found. He kicked a random trash can standing at the entrance of the buidling, earning some judging side eyes from some students but the boy didn't care at all.

Then something else came to his mind. He had searched everywhere except for the basement.

So Jay quickly took his chance and ran down the stairs which led to the basement. He ran around, checking on every single room except for the ones which were locked.

When the boy had checked on every single room, he couldn't help but lean against the wall, sinking down on the cold floor before ruffling his hair, his head pointing downwards to the ground.

"Haneul, where are you?"
He muttered to himself quietly, questioning.

There was nothing that could have made him worry more about. His mind was a mess, his tears shortly before falling as the girl seemed to have yet left deeply tattoed marks on the boy.

Jay continued ruffling through his hair before his ears recognized a silent and reserved sound. It sounded like a small ocean flowing in an unkown forest.

Jay narrowed his eyes and tried to recognize the direction the sound came from.

He lifted up himself until he stood on both his feet steadily again. Then he took some small steps forward until he reached a room's door which he hasn't opened before because apparently it was locked.

But yeah. the sound indeed came from the room.

"Haneul?"
The boy asked loudly, placing his hand on the door handle.

He could hear the sound stopping but instead there could be heard a small hum. It sounded very feminine and exactly like the hums the girl always spouted.

The boy didn't get an answer but he exactly knew that Haneul was inside that room. He tried his best to push down the doorhandle but it just didn't seem to work.
