"Jay" The girl's soft and tender voice appeared, frightening herself with her own sudden appearance.

She sat on pillows, a blanket underneath her thighs. Only when she took a look around she noticed that she was in the book café.

"Haneul"

His voice.

So far away but yet so close.

The boy appeared at the entrance, observing her with his dark brown eyes. He took some fast, large steps towards her until he reached her figured and wrapped his arms around her.

But something was off.

Something just felt different from usual.

Her figure was weak. Nearly a ghost. As if she didn't exist.

A stab right into her heart and the girl felt like that happened for real as she broke down from the sudden pain.

"Haneul!" The boy shouted, stretching his arms out to support her weight.
The girl flinched, her eyes twitching.

"Are you hurt?" The boy asked seriously, his eyes filled with worry and concern.
He held her hands tightly, the coldness not being able to beat the warmth of his own hands.

"I-I'm sorry" The girl's voice broke by the shakiness.

Jay tilted his head and narrowed his eyes in confusion, holding the girl's weak figure as he questioned her phrase.

"Why are you sorry? For what?" The boy asked gently, his eyes still narrowed as he watched the girl not being able to stand up and ended up sitting on the pillows, the boy not leaving her side.

"For being a b-burden to y-you and everyone else" Haneul shakily responded, tears making her sight blurry.

"I'm sorry I-I didn't t-tell you earlier" She added, coughing a few times with the boy always leaning closer towards her to keep her save.

He placed his hand on her shoulders before pulling her chin with his fingers to his gaze.

"Haneul"
He started.

Her wide eyes widened, her ears fully opened to listen to his gentle and soft voice.
Never would there be any other voice which she rather wanted to hear than his.

"You are and will never be a burden to me or anyone else. You have to carry around something people wouldn't even survive one day with. You are so strong. Your heart is the biggest heart i've ever seen and even despite all the love it spends on so many things, it still has to carry this enormous disease.
Haneul, your strength is your power. Everyone could create great things. But who else can create what you can create? You can create gold"

The boy's gentle words filled the silence in the air.

Haneul's eyes were still glossy as she spoke, her look having been filles with nothing but despair before. But now, she was relieved and reassured.

She knew that nothing could happen to her if he was there. He was her protector, her light guiding her through the dark. Her weeds to grow new flowers. Her guide to find the exit.

Her way to escape.

Life had felt suffocating before Haneul met Jay. It was as if the world crushed her with its cruel secrets. She had felt lonely and left behind. Isolated and lonely.

Her heart was sick.

His heart,

was slowly healing hers.

It was as if the world took a sudden turn to direct the earth to a new viewpoint of the stars.

Jay didn't hesitate once to kiss her. He pulled her chin towards his gaze as their lips already met.

A touch of magic, not true?

"Jay" The girl whispered, soon after she leaned her forehead against his, their kiss having felt like spending a second in heaven. As if she met the stars and asked how it is to be a star.

You could shine.

You could enjoy.

You could live freely.

"Haneul" Jay breathed, his palm resting on her neck. They were less than an inch apart, their noses seperated through one breath.

"I don't have much-"

"Pshh" Jay whispered as he placed his index finger on her mouth to keep it shut. He exactly knew what she was about to say. He knew she didn't have much time left. He knew that even though he rather liked it if he didn't.

"We have all the time in the world" The boy murmured silently, his voice nothing more than a whsiper when his eyes met hers almost immediately.

Their looks embraced to each other.

Haneul closed her eyes for a second.

The next second she woke up.

She saw machines.

Machines connected to her. A heartbeat monitor next to her bed.

Heartbeats.

Which almost killed Haneul.

Almost.
