In a spacious and luxurious office, Li Dongze lounged lazily on the sofa, one leg crossed over the other. A glass of wine rested in his left hand, a cigar smoldering between the fingers of his right. He appeared utterly at ease.

Just moments ago, he had reported the recruitment of the Night Wanderer to his immediate superior.

Li Dongze knew that the young centurion, newly appointed and eager to make his mark, was in urgent need of allies. For someone with a background as clean as the Night Wanderer, this was a godsend, especially for the centurion, whose noble lineage placed high expectations upon him. The timing was impeccable.

As expected, his superior expressed deep appreciation for his efforts and promised him a significant commendation.

In the hierarchy of the White Tiger Legion, military merit was everything.

"Bang—"

The office's glass door was flung open with force, and Guan Ya, heels clicking sharply, stormed in.

Li Dongze frowned, took a deliberate sip of his drink, and remarked calmly, "Guan Ya, your behavior is far from elegant."

"Shichang, that brat's trial realm is the Sheling Tunnel!" Guan Ya got straight to the point.

"Pffft!" Li Dongze choked on his drink, sputtering uncontrollably. Without bothering to wipe the spilled liquid, he shot to his feet, slamming his hands on the desk, his voice rising in panic, "Sheling Tunnel?! Oh, my God, you fool! Look what you've done!"

Grabbing his cane, he rushed out to the office area, where the newly recruited Night Wanderer sat dumbfounded, staring at his computer.

Noticing Li Dongze's arrival, Zhang Yuanqing looked up, his face twisted in anguish. "Shichang, do you think there's any hope left for me?"

He feared that the next words would be: "No hope, prepare for death, and cancel the contract!"

Li Dongze stared at him in silence, his expression akin to someone who had finally wooed their dream lover, only to discover she was his long-lost sister.

Taking a deep breath, Li Dongze spoke in a somber tone, "The trial realm is the first solo instance every spiritual realm walker faces. Its most vexing feature is precisely this—no one can assist you. It is the realm's test of your worth. It is the price you must pay to gain supernatural power."

Zhang Yuanqing nodded gravely, the weight of his situation sinking in.

Li Dongze continued, "I'll report this. Hopefully, there's some information or strategy in the higher-level archives about the Sheling Tunnel. Otherwise, no one can save you. Go home and wait for news. I'll inform you immediately if there's a breakthrough."

Although he wasn't a Night Wanderer himself, as an experienced spiritual realm walker, Li Dongze had heard of the Sheling Tunnel's fearsome reputation.

So far, not a single person had cleared it, based on the official records. The "first kill" for this instance remained unclaimed.

"Alright, thank you, Shichang." Zhang Yuanqing nodded stiffly.

Li Dongze added, "Write a detailed account of your experience in the Sheling Tunnel."

After arranging a special vehicle to send Zhang Yuanqing home, Guan Ya returned to her desk. She opened a drawer and took out a memo pad bearing an Aquarius watermark. Unscrewing the cap of a pen adorned with a Virgo symbol, she began writing.

Everything on her desk—from the computer and notebook to the cup—was emblazoned with various astrological signs.

Clearly, she was a seasoned astrology enthusiast.
