(NON-CANON)
(Evening)
Halloween. Where kids dress up as characters that take the horror genre by storm or fictional anime characters that would scare any realist who doesn't watch any Japanese cartoons on a daily basis. LHS was finishing up its last remaining classes for the students that day. Many of the kids were hanging out with their friends, buddies, or even lovers. Today, LHS would host a Halloween Prom Event for all of those who aren't taking remedial classes. Not that this mattered to (Y/N), who preferred relaxing at home over bothering with a school dance that held zero appeal for him.
Meanwhile, (Y/N) casually scrolled through his phone, waiting for Jecka to wrap up her last AP class of the day. He planned to suggest a Netflix and chill session back at his place if she was down for it. As he stifled a yawn, his gaze drifted to the school staff busy setting up for the event. Orange and black streamers draped down each side of the cafeteria entrance, which (Y/N) guessed was where the catering would be set up. Principal Lynn was overseeing the preparations with a clipboard in hand, and (Y/N) mused to himself, "For someone whose staff supposedly has baby-oiled photos of her, she actually looks pretty professional."
Jecka's voice echoed over to him as she stood beside him. "What'cha looking at?" She asked, her hazel eyes seemed to gleam in interest and a hint of excitement. (Y/N) turned off his smartphone, placing it in his back pocket.
(Y/N): "Just onlooking the setup for this Prom Event."
Jecka glanced toward the cafeteria, focusing on a table draped with a red tablecloth where a few Jack-O'-Lanterns were being set up. "Are you thinking of attending?" she asked. (Y/N) stretched, leaning back against a locker. "Nope," he replied flatly.
Jecka raised an eyebrow. "You should go. This'll be your last chance to experience something like this."
(Y/N) shrugged. "I don't see the point. Besides, it's not like I'd be dancing or anything—I'd just hang around by the food the whole time and then take as much as I can before its over."
Jecka sighed, pouting. "This is exactly what bugs me about you—you're always so brutally honest."
(Y/N) smirked. "That's just part of who I am." As he surveyed the throngs of students streaming out of the building, he noticed a sea of unfamiliar faces, with only a handful that he recognized. "Mm.. Your friend, Nicole, right? We should've seen her by now," he mused aloud to Jecka. "I wonder where she is."
Jecka shrugged. "Oh, she headed home early."
(Y/N) raised an eyebrow. "Early dismissal?"
Jecka replied, "No, she just ditched her last class." (Y/N) stopped leaning against the locker behind him. "I guess there's no point waiting around here, time to roll out."
Jecka crossed her arms, her annoyance evident. "You still haven't told me what you plan to do instead of going to Prom tonight," she pressed.
(Y/N) replied with a casual smile, "I was thinking we could just kick back, watch Netflix, and chill together tonight." The two of them began walking out the front door of the school building, near car pool.
Jecka exclaimed, "Oh shit, that actually sounds great! But... I have to admit, I'm kind of interested in going to prom this year."
(Y/N) raised an eyebrow, "You're interested? Really?" As they walked into the parking lot, where their cars were parked, he added, "What's got you so curious about it?"
Jecka spun playfully in front of (Y/N) and pressed a finger to her lips. "It's a secret!" she whispered with a teasing giggle. "If you wanna know, then you've gotta come too!"
