Chapter 6 - Online Audition

Amethyst was reading the information on the website for the audition. It was held by the big agency called iNfinity. There were two different parts.

The first was online. You had to send a video of your singing and dancing and information about yourself, including age and name.

The second part was actually going to Tokyo. If you got an email saying you had been accepted to the real audition, you would go to Tokyo and audition in person. You would sing and dance to different songs than the online ones you sent in.

And then, if you made it in, you would live in Tokyo with the other members and parental guardians in the house. There would be twenty accepted members in total. You would train for a year before...

The survival show.

The survival show would pick the seven members who would join the group. They didn't go into detail about the show, however.

I'm confident I can make it into the top twenty! After all, I've got Ai's idol genes and my singing know-how from my previous life.

Amethyst immediately signed up putting her name (Amethyst), age (12) and location (Nagano City).

Now she was off to record her singing and dancing.

She wandered around the house, looking for a suitable place to sing and dance. She eventually just decided to sing in her room and dance in the living room.

Also, Himari and Hiroshi were both out running errands so Amethyst was wouldn't get caught recording this stuff. The two were more interested in Amethyst becoming a doctor to make lots of money for them.

Of course, Amethyst just nodded whenever they brought this up and she never told them about wanting to be an idol. But if she got accepted for this audition, she would have to tell them.

She decided to think about that later and get the videos done.

Dancing was first. She just danced to the song 'Show' by Ado.

She moved to her room and picked up her microphone. She sang "Odo" also by Ado.

After recording the song, she sent in the videos. She finished recording just in time because Himari and Hiroshi came back from their errands after she recorded.

"Amethyst! We're home!" Himari called out.

"Hi." was all she replied with. She was casually sitting on the couch after just sending the videos in.

"Did you finish all of your homework?" Hiroshi asked.

Amethyst told them that she was doing homework, which she actually already finished.

She nodded. "Yeah, it was fine."

"Help us unpack the groceries please!" Himari asked, lifting a bag.

"Ok." She slipped of the couch and went to help.

A few weeks later, Amethyst finally got a response for the audition.

She was rolling around in her bed, listening to B-Komachi music. She had her headphones on when she heard a notification ping!

She checked her notifications and it was an email from the audition!

Omigosh!!! They've responded already!!

Amethyst sat up straight, paused her music, and giddily opened the email. She quickly scanned through and read it.

Dear Amethyst-san,

after reviewing your audition tapes, we have accepted you into the second stage of the audition. Please come to 12 Sunny Breeze, Tokyo on October 1 for the in person auditions. If you cannot come, please email us back. If you don't respond to this email, we will assume you are coming. We hope to see you there!

Amethyst reread this about 5 times before the truth sank in.

I'm going to Tokyo!!! I've made it past the first stage! Now I just gotta sing and dance different songs and I'll make it into the show!

She sprung of the bed and started dancing in excitement.

It was then she realized something.

How am I...

going to get to Tokyo?

Her eyes widened. She was gonna have to tell Himari and Hiroshi about the audition. She took in a shaky breath.

It's fine. I can do this. They'll say yes. They'll be proud of me. I know it.

They will say yes.

Right?
