Author's POV

"Well, I don't want to bore you guys", Chloe chuckled awkwardly. "No, come on", Beca replied and everyone else is either looking at their food or suddenly busy with their phone. "Uhm- well, she owns a cafe at my campus back in England, and we just kept- bumping into each other and here we are", Chloe smiled. "That's not how it went", Alice chuckled. "Chloe here, would purposely come to the cafe almost every hour! When we got together, she didn't even drink coffee that much", Alice chuckled and placed her arm around the redhead's shoulder. "Then one day, she asked me out to which I happily agreed to", she added. "What a lovely story", Cindy replied before turning her head to Beca. "How's your little project going, honey?", she asked. "What project?", Chloe's head got up to meet Beca's eyes. "Just a little side quest, and it's been alright I guess. Had some- issues come up recently-", she glanced over to Alice, "but it's been fine", she continued. "So, what are they for?", Chloe asked. Before the brunette could answer, Fat Amy replied with her mouth filled with food. "She's releasing her songs online, a little EP I guess is what they call it", she said. "That's great, Becs! Can't wait to hear it", Chloe smiled at her softly.

"Not it!", all of them said out when Aubrey asked who'll be doing the dishes. "Me again?!", Beca said out loud in frustration while they laughed. "I'll give you a hand, Becs", Chloe smiled as she stood up and gathered all the dirty plates before walking to the kitchen. "You don't have to do this, I got it", Beca said standing next to Chloe, scrubbing the plates clean and rinsing them while Chloe wiped them and put it away. "It's much faster when I'm helping you, isn't it?", Chloe cocked an eyebrow and let out a small laugh. "Don't get so cocky with me, Miss Beale", Beca slipped out and they both looked at each other with a smile, lips inches away. So close, yet so far, Beca thought. "You're so annoying", Chloe smiled at her. "You missed me", the brunette replied, locking her eyes with the redhead. She could feel Chloe's breathing stopped for a while, it hitched, as if Beca surprised her with that comment. "You guys okay here?", Alice asked and popped her head in. Both of them slightly jumped at her voice and Chloe's head turned to Alice while Beca went back to the dirty dishes. "Yeah! We're fine!", Chloe replied. "I'll wait for you upstairs, baby", Alice smirked and disappeared. There was a moment of silence after she left, just the distant sounds of the other girls talking in the living room and water running from the sink as it splashes on the plate. "I did", Chloe broke the silence. Beca's head turned to her. "I did miss you", Chloe added with a soft smile. "As did I", the brunette replied as she tucked a small strand of the ginger's hair behind her ear and let her finger linger down Chloe's cheeks. "I should- uhm- I should go up", Chloe said. "Thanks for the help", Beca smiled.

Beca spent the rest of the night drinking in the living room with Stacie, Emily and Aubrey. After Cindy left, they each got a couple bottles of beer and sat together to wait for Emily's birthday. "Any specific wishes in mind?", Beca asked her. "Not really", Emily shrugged. "Come on, everyone had a specific wish for their 18th birthday!", Beca said. "What was yours?", Emily asked. Beca went silent for while and took a sip of her drink, "Chloe", she said with a forced smile. The group just nodded while Aubrey gave her a small pat on the back. "How are you feeling?", Stacie asked. "Honestly, I don't even know. Like we would have these- like- small moments of- I don't know- but there would be something there- just- a small light of home and I know she felt it too. But then she would snap out of it then go back to her little girlfriend", Beca replied and dropped her head in her hands. "Did you know?", Emily turned to Aubrey. "No. She barely spoke to me after she left, let alone tell me about a new girlfriend", Aubrey scoffed. "You've known her for a while, is it- y'know- legit? Like her and Alice?", Beca asked the blonde. She sighed, "Unfortunately, I would say so, from the way I see it. But, she was happier when she was with you. That I know. She was much more- free-er? If that makes sense",  Aubrey replied. "Y'know what? Whatever. Because, it's midnight and Emily Junk is officially 18!", Beca said out loud while Aubrey and Stacie woo-ed which made the younger girl laugh. "Not your first sip of beer, but your first sip of beer as an 18 year old!", Beca passed the beer to the girl who then took a sip and laughed.

"Fuck, baby, right there. You're amazing", Chloe's voice was heard from outside. Stacie, Aubrey and Emily had already turned in for bed earlier but Beca decided to stay downstairs for a little longer alone, and she regretted that. The moment I want to lie down and sleep they decided to fuck?, Beca thought to herself. Chloe's moans filled the silent night outside of her room and Beca found herself in an emotional rollercoaster. How she missed those sounds, how she made Chloe felt and how Chloe made her feel when they make love. But the pain of hearing those noises knowing that it wasn't because of her. Beca brushed it off and rushed to her room, quickly putting her headphones on to muffle out the sound. She stared at the ceiling and thought about when they were together.

"That was amazing, Becs.", Chloe let out, breathless. "I could tell", Beca joked before lying down next to her and earning a slap on the shoulder from Chloe. "You're really amazing, you know that?", Chloe turned to her and placed her hand on Beca's cheeks. "I love you", she added before a placing a small kiss on the brunette's lips. "I love you too, Chlo", Beca replied. "Why don't you get some rest after the amazing thing that you did for me- well- to me", they both chuckled, "and I go and make you some french toast as a reward?", Chloe smiled to which Beca nodded to before she dozed off for a nap.

Beca snapped out of her thoughts when she heard someone knock on her door. She opened it to find a sweaty-out of breath redhead with rosy cheeks. Beca took her time to look at her up and down with an oversized shirt that goes to her knees so Beca didn't even know if she was wearing anything else under that. "I knew you'd be awake! Uh- do you have some extra shampoo? We ran out", the redhead smiled. "Uh- yea! Gimme a sec", she ran to her bathroom and Chloe wandered in her room, analysing each corner. Max was sleeping into the corner, there was a few pictures of both of them together framed, she walked to the dresser to see a small tray with rings and bracelets and right next to it was a necklace placed carefully. Chloe took the necklace with a charm that says 'CM' and realised what it was. "Chloe Mitchell", a voice said behind her which startled her and made her lost her balance. Before her body could fall to the ground, Beca managed to grab her by the waist and pulled her in. Their bodies touched and fit into each other like puzzle pieces, as if they were carved specifically for each other. Their eyes locked again, both of their pupils dilated, filled with lust and a sense of longing for the other. Before you know it, Chloe placed her lips on Beca's and a wave of electricity rushed into Beca's body, like she's been on the brink of death and Chloe's kiss brought her back to life. Just for a split second. Chloe pulled away and her face were now filled with anxiety, "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have done that. That was wrong. I have a girlfri-", she muttered out. "Woah woah- hold on- you kissed me. Don't use the whole 'I have a girlfriend' bullshit", Beca said, her frustration building. "It's wrong", Chloe said more sternly now. "You should've thought about that before you kissed me, shouldn't you Beale?", Beca asked her. "I know you missed me", Beca stepped closer to her, "She doesn't know how make you feel the way I made you feel, does she?", she added with a smirk. "Beca. Stop. This is wrong. I have a girlfriend who I love. Whatever we had, it's-", before Chloe could finish, Beca just placed a bottle of shampoo on the dresser behind Chloe and walked away. "Go to her then", she muttered and just like that, Chloe left.

"Hey, I'm having a little party tomorrow. Come over?", Beca said into the phone.
