Author's POV

Beca woke up with a stabbing pain in her stomach, I guess the alcohol finally went away, she thought while she got up and got ready for the day. She walked down the stairs with Max to see Stacie, Aubrey, Chloe, and Alice in the kitchen. "Mornin", she said while she made her way to the kitchen. "Hi buddy! How'd you sleep!", Chloe knelt down to pet Max who was wagging his tails, excited to see her. "Where's Emily?", Beca asked as she poured herself a cup of coffee and carefully took a sip. "She went out earlier with Ben", Stacie replied. "You're off today no? Why are you up so early?",  Aubrey asked the brunette. "Couldn't really sleep last night, so I thought I'd get some work done. There are some mixes that I need to finalize tonight", Beca mentioned. "Oh wait yeah! Your gig's tonight right!", Aubrey's eyes lit up and she saw Beca dropping her head in defeat. "You have a gig tonight?", Chloe turned to Beca who just shrugged and smiled. "We'll come watch!", Chloe added cheerily. "You guys don't have to, it's a more laid back thing so it won't be any fun", Beca explained. "Come on! We'll be there, I haven't heard you sing in so long!", Chloe said. "Fine, I'll get you guys on the guest list", Beca rolled her eyes to which Chloe lightly nugged her shoulder to. 

The day was quite slow with Beca. She couldn't get her head out of the fucking bin. The mixes felt weird to her and something was just not clicking. By then, Stacie was already off to work and Emily was still out. Beca was working on her laptop at the dining table why Aubrey, Alice and Chloe was in the living room. "So, how's things with Stace?", Chloe asked while she got comfy next to Alice who wrapped her arms around Chloe. "Things have been good! Didn't think we would make it this far but look at us now! And she's really doing the whole adulting thing better than I thought she would", Aubrey explained with a smile. "That's good, Bree. I'm really happy for you!", Chloe smiled widely and placed her hand on Aubrey's lap. "What about you guys? How did it happen?", Aubrey asked. Aubrey was obviously upset at Chloe for what she did but at the end of the day, they've been bestfriends since forever! "Uh, where do I even start?", Chloe chuckled awkwardly and slightly lift her head up to see if Beca was listening only to find the tiny brunette lost in her own world with her headphones on. "This one played hard to get", Alice chuckled while motioning to Chloe. "I did not! I was just getting adjusted to the change, okay?", Chloe sat up and turned to Alice. "I want to hear more but let me go get a snack", Aubrey stood up. "I need a refill too", Alice said following behind Aubrey. Before they could make their way to the kitchen, Beca shot up and ran up the stairs while shouting "Pee break!" which Aubrey just laughed at. While Aubrey was getting her snack, Alice took a peak at Beca's laptop, curious to see what she was working. She tried to play the track to listen but it wouldn't play. She just shrugged it off and waited for Aubrey. Footsteps going down the stairs were heard and Beca walked back to her laptop and put her headphones on before she slammed her fist on the table followed by a loud 'What the fuck!'. "Becs?", Chloe stood up and approached her. "Who touched my fucking laptop?", she asked with a groan and rubbed her eyes. "I just- wanted to see what you were doing", Alice spoke up. "Could you not have waited until I came down? Or maybe- I don't know- mind your own business?!", Beca's voice was slightly raised.

"If you wanted privacy, you could've done it in your room, y'know", Alice shrugged off before walking to Chloe. "Excuse me?", Beca asked. "Becs-", Aubrey tried to calm her down. "Mind you, this is MY house that YOU'RE staying in. For free by the way! That does not give you the right to fuck my shit up!", Beca raised her voice even more before running her hands through her hair. "Hey, okay, let's calm down", Chloe said. "Shut up", Beca muttered. "Watch it", Chloe said bluntly knowing that Beca was in the heat. "She fucked up my shit!", Beca said out loud while tapping away on her laptop keyboard trying to salvage what was left. "Becs, come on, she didn't mean to. Just calm down", Chloe said to which Aubrey winced to, knowing what would happen next. "Calm down?", Beca turned to Chloe. "Okay okay. Break it up. Chloe and Alice, leave us alone.", Aubrey said. Just like that, Chloe and Alice went up to their room and closed the door. "Breathe", Aubrey turned to Beca and moved her hand up and down. "You're fine. You'll be fine", Aubrey added. "I'm just gonna head off to the venue early, I'll see you guys later", Beca muttered and slammed her laptop shut before going out.
