Porsche remained locked in his room for weeks after his confession. The bright, spirited boy who used to bring light to every room now stayed hidden in the shadows of his own heartbreak. He barely spoke, ate little, and most importantly, he avoided Kinn entirely.
It wasn’t that he hated him—he could never hate him—but being around him was like reopening a fresh wound every time.
His parents, Pat and Namphung, were deeply worried. They tried to approach him multiple times, but Porsche deflected every attempt at conversation.
Namphung, being Korn Theerapanyakun’s sister, had always hoped Porsche and Kinn would remain close, but she had never imagined it would lead to this. She sensed something had happened between the two but wasn’t sure how to bridge the gap that was growing.
"Porsche, you can't stay in your room forever,"
Namphung said gently one morning as she sat on the edge of her son's bed.
Porsche turned his back to her mother, clutching his pillow tightly.
"I’m fine, Mom. I just need some time."
Namphung sighed and stroked her son’s hair.
"Take the time you need, sweetheart, but know that we’re here for you."
Porchay, on the other hand, was more persistent.
"You can’t let him get to you like this, hia,"
he said one evening while perched on the edge of Porsche's bed.
"It’s not that simple,"
Porsche whispered, his voice barely audible.
Porchay sat beside him, crossing his legs.
"You’re stronger than this. You’ve got your art, you’ve got me. Kinn isn’t the whole world."
Porsche shook his head, his tears silently falling.
"But he was my world."
Porchay hugged his brother tightly.
"Maybe it feels like that now, but it won’t always be this way. You have to trust me."

Meanwhile, Kinn was oblivious to the depth of Porsche’s pain. He missed him, but he brushed it off as something that would pass with time.
After all, he was young. He assumed he would move on soon enough. Every time they crossed paths at family events, he would give him a forced smile and quietly slip away. It bothered him, but he reasoned it was better than having him feel awkward around him.
"Kinn, where’s Porsche? I haven’t seen him around much,"
Kim, his younger brother, asked when they were having dinner as a family.
Kinn shrugged, trying to play it cool.
"I don’t know. he’s probably busy with school or his art."
Rose, their mother, looked between the two boys with a curious glance.
"I’ve noticed he’s been quiet too. Maybe you should check on him, Kinn. You two were always so close."
Kinn shifted uncomfortably in his seat.
"He’s fine, Mom. Just going through a phase, I guess."
Rose raised an eyebrow, but didn’t press further. Still, Kinn couldn’t shake the feeling that something wasn’t right.
But rather than confronting it, he allowed himself to become more engrossed in his work. He was starting to take on more responsibilities at Theerapanyakun Enterprises, and with his father Korn pushing him hard to prepare for the future, Kinn didn’t have much time to think about Porsche’s absence.
