With the three personalities (if that's what you want to call them) out of the room, it was as if the energy had been sucked out. I shifted uncomfortably and Elise blankly stared at Dalisay who mirrored her look with a glare. She finally stepped away from the door and moved closer to us.
"Now what am I supposed to do with you privileged brats?" She asked, crossing her arms. I laughed loudly and spread my arms out to gesture toward our setting.
"Privileged, huh?" I asked, my voice rising by an octave, "Where the hell do you see any of that right now?"
Immediately, her cold expression turned more hostile but it was only in her eyes as she glared at me.
I could fight words but her silence is insufferable.
I stood up suddenly, an impulsive action because I didn't like being the smaller person.
"What are you doing?" Dalisay asked in her thick accent. I headed towards the door but stopped at the frame.
"Well, we're not going to sit in a room all day now are we?" I asked, now grinning.
Besides, there are not a lot of ways to escape this room.
Her eyes narrowed and she walked up to me and slammed her palm against the wall.
"And risk you trying to be all smart again?" She chided. I chuckled and leaned in.
"I thought you were a spy? Don't worry you can babysit us," I replied with a wink. But obviously, she was just as stubborn as me and suggested,
"Fine but you're leaving with the cuffs. No cuffs, no leaving."
That's fine.
"But the boys said we don't need them anymore," I countered.
I need to pretend that I'm bargaining for more.
She scowled and didn't reply. She aggressively grabbed my arm and squeezed it, gesturing for Elise to stand up as well.
"You're standing next to me the whole time, got it?" She warned.
I smiled slightly. Huh. Bonus: No handcuffs.
I rolled my eyes and pulled my arm out of her grasp.
"Okay, jeez. We can walk without you holding on so tight," I complained. Elise had gotten up and made her way towards us. She raised an eyebrow in my direction, questioning me. It basically suggested: What the fuck are you trying to do?
She knows me so well <3
I winked at her when Dalisay walked out the door before us.
When we followed her out, the chatter from dozens of people zoomed into focus.
I tried to focus through the buzz of it all but it was almost impossible. It even increased in noise when everyone caught sight of us.
"Damn, that's them?"
"They look... less intimidating than I thought,"
"Especially since they're supposed to be considered a threat!"
I couldn't help but be offended by their shitty conversations.
Yeah, fuck ya'll.
Dalisay made us walk through the group of people, leading us to who knows where. I accidentally stepped through and bumped into two people who looked extraordinarily similar from behind. When they turned around to look at me, I recognized them as the twins Ember and Ash, whom Ace had pointed out earlier. Close up, they seemed much more attractive, with sharp features and beautiful strawberry blonde hair. They had amber eyes that resembled a rich honey.
